Just by Googling we found this villa. At first we were a bit suspicious, because we live in Holland and didn't have a possibility to meet the owner (who is Irish). But after a few nice mails we were sure; it appeared very reliable. And it was!! What a beautiful villa. We felt like God in France. We were here with our three children and our daughter in law. There is so much to tell about the villa: perfectly clean, beautiful furniture, very nice and comfortable bed- and bathrooms. A lovely terrace were we had a very relaxed breakfast every morning. And how lovely it is to wake up when everybode is still asleep, make a cup of tea and than sit down at the swimming pool and listen to the birds and enjoy the morning sunshine. Wow! In the villa you find really EVERYTHING you need. Even a cheese slicer, which is of course very important for us Dutch people :-). We also enjoyed the barbeque. In the small supermarket, 10 minutes walking, 2 minutes by car, we bought really nice fresh bread every morning. Because we rented a small car, we were able to visit al the beautifull beaches and villages in the neighbourhood. Eating breakfast for 6 euros at the beach of Portimao (Praia da Rocha) is a real joy! The owner of the villa, Angela, is very very kind. She took care of everything, so when we arrived we found a perfectly cleaned house and even a bottle of champagne for our wedding anniversary. So kind! The weather was also perfect (26 degrees and blue sky). We're back in Holland now, but we would like to go back to the villa immediately. Angela, thank you so much for having the possibility to rent your villa. It was more than we could wish. We hope to come back next year!!!!!!
We stayed at Casa Octavious for 3 weeks in August. There were 5 of us for two weeks and a family of three joined us for the remainder! What a fabulous Villa it is. On entering you feel how spacious it is, all rooms lead off from the main reception room. The terrace is just wonderful. We were lucky enough to sit on the terrace in glorious sunshine with glass of wine in hand whilst watching the Olympics! It was great having Sky TV and WiFi having children ranging from 10 to 17 with us. There are plenty of towels, and the kitchen is stocked up with plenty of utentils and pots, pans, plates etc.. The cleaning staff are very efficient and the pool guys are very polite. There was one incident when the dishwasher decided to break but after one phone call all was put right.
Smugglers Cove is a two minute walk away behind the Villa and that a beautiful Cove to visit, great to sit and watch those brave enough to jump off the ledges there. Also a little boat pops into the cove every couple of hours so you can hop on and for a small amount you can have a tour around the coast line and see all the other coves!!
The supermarket is a 10 minute walk away and we felt happy sending the children up for a few things, not badly priced but very convienient.
The complex where the the Villa is situated is stunning, the gardens and lawned areas are looked after daily and its a lovely walk around the complex looking at all the beautiful Villas.
We had a very relaxing time and would definatly look to go back in the future.
The photos on the website didn't lie. Stunning house and pool area with every facility a family needs on holiday. The house is spotless clean and there are onsite facilities available ie playground, pool and crazy golf. The house is in a picturesque part of the Algarve. The house is perfectly situated within driving distance of stunning beaches and postcard type towns. However, there is a gorgeous small beach within 5 minutes walk of the house which we all fell in love with. There is an abundance of things to do during the day, including a water park which is approximately 10 minutes away. There is plenty of restaurants around to choose from, however the BBQ area by the pool was perfect for the evenings you wanted to chill. Altogether, a fabulous holiday and would highly recommend it!!
The villa was a great size and plenty of room for two families. Everything you needed for a perfect relaxing holiday. The owners have thought of almost everything. The owner was quick responding to any small query and everything was never too much trouble. It was our first holiday without a hire a car and we managed very well. There is a bus stop just outside the complex, this however is more expensive than the local taxis. We used taxis to the supermarket and down to Carvoeiro. The transfer the owner recommended from the airport was also excellent. The pool was cleaned regularly and the villa cleaned twice a week. The villa is within walking distance to the beach but not suitable for elderly as many steps down & then up! A close eye was needed with young children in the sea. The waves were extremly strong. We visited a few of the restaurants recommended and we were very pleased. We found the upstairs far too hot and would recommend air conditioning or even fans. There was only one thing we were disappointed with and that was the noise of the seagulls! No ones fault and you do eventually get used to it. The negative comments from the previous review I felt were uncalled for if they wanted luxury the price would have been alot more, we were 4 adults and 4 children ranging from 7 - 17 we had plenty of room inside and out. The side of the house was shaded and perfect for the younger children to play. This villa was excellent value for money, the sky TV and internet kept the children happy. We all had an excellent holiday and would love to return one day.
We have stayed in the Val Do Milho area for the last few years and so were very familiar with this area. Closeness to Bella Vita restaurant is a huge bonus.
The villa was spacious and clean inside although I feel the description of it as luxury is not completely accurate. 4 good size en suite bathrooms and plenty of inside living space. We found the outside space a little cramped with only 6 adults and a child and there were only 6 sun beds and 6 chairs for the dining table on the terrace.
Huge number of bathroom and pool towels was a very nice touch.
I feel the outside area needs to be improved a little bit but we had a lovely holiday and would recommend the villa and the area to anyone.
The small beach is extremely close and is ideal for families but any older members of the party would struggle getting up and down the steps. We still preferred Centaines with the excellent Stop beach restaurant also now doing evening meals this is a must.
Pictures on the web site need to be updated as do not show current furniture in the living room. Small kitchen with not much work top space but very well kitted out and pretty much everything you would need.
Overall very happy with the villa but feel describing it as a luxury propery is a misleading.
Upon arrival at this beautiful, convenient, yet secluded Chalet the first thing that struck me was the sense of space - internally and externally. The facilities provided by this property are second to none and whether you want to relax by the pool in the beautiful garden, read a book on one of the terraces, take a stroll along the rugged cliff side, play a round of Golf or simply go to the beach - they are all achievable without much effort. We had a wonderful stay with convenient Supermarkets for the nights we wanted to cook in, a pretty Village within walking distance (although you may want to get a Taxi home) for a night out on the town or alternatively if you want to eat out but don't want to travel to town there is a lovely selection of local restaurants and bars - all within a 5 minute walk.
I would highly recommend this property for a group of friends to get together or for a family as I have no doubt all of your requriements will be met. Excellent! Can't wait to return.
