More than we hoped for.
Let me start by saying, that I was disappointed by not taking enough "downtime "days to really enjoy this gem of a cabin with spectacular views of the mountains and serenity of the location. We did many day trips to Phantom Canyon and the must do of Loveland pass to see the great Continental Divide with breathtaking views. The Rocky Mountains were spectacular. We did 2 days doing this trip. We drove up from both directions to be sure we didn't miss anything. It is worth it to get a senior $20.00 National Park Pass, as it is good for one year and can be used at any National Park. It's good for all who are in the car with you. Mount Evans early in the day is best. We saw about a 100 mountain goats at the top. Guanella Pass from Grant to Georgetown was beautiful. Squaw Pass from Evergreen to Idaho Springs was a great trip. We also did a very long loop from the cabin west on 70 through the Eisenhower Tunnel and up through to Wyoming through Medecine Bow National Forest. If you have the time to do this it is very rewarding with a very incredible countryside view and some amazing photo -ops. We really packed alot into the 2 week stay. Thank you Charlotte and Adam for making this trip so enjoyable because of the home we were able to come back to after long days of sightseeing. We definitely want to come back for a more relaxing, sray at the cabin. The cool mountain temperatures were a blessing as it was upper 80's to low 90's in Idaho Springs.
Just what we were hoping for
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. It was very clean, cozy and the location was great.
We stayed here on July 15-20 and this property exceeded our expectations even after reading all of the excellent reviews and looking at all the wonderful photos on the profile. During our stay we went hiking, white water rafting, fishing, and horseback riding; all of which were in close proximity of our cabin. In the evenings we were able to grill and just chill out at the cabin, which was so relaxing. The cabin is high up in the mountains so at first just climbing the stairs of the cabin made us out of breath but we seemed to acclimate quickly. It is also very dry but there is a humidifier in the bedroom closet which helped us sleep at night. The climate on the mountain is cool during the day and chilly in the mornings and the evenings, perfect for a summertime getaway. Charlotte, the owner, was easy to get a hold of when I had questions and she was thoughtful about making our stay as comfortable and accommodating as possible. One suggestion for all you fishermen out there: there isn't much tackle at the cabin and the line on the poles at the cabin is a little heavy for trout fishing, so you might want to bring your own gear. I brought some tackle and my ultra-light pole which I let my girlfriend use. I used one of the poles from the cabin and my girlfriend caught 8 trout to my 2. Not cool lol! Anyways, no complaints at all, we would definitely recommend this cabin and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Great memories were made during our week at Alice in Winterland!
Great Cabin, Great Location
The cabin was great with the most beautiful views of the mountains. Although we had neighbors, it felt very secluded and was always quiet and peaceful out on the deck.
Charlotte was very helpful, accessible and provided lots of great information about our stay and local activities.
Great location and close to lots of great hiking trails and various other excursions.
Our stay in Alice
We had a great stay at this property! Charlotte was super communicative and responsive. We were visiting the area for a friends wedding and I had dresses being delivered to the property. Charlotte called a few days prior to our arrival and assured me that a package had been delivered. I was nervous they wouldn’t make it or would sit outside. When we arrived my dresses were hanging in the bedroom closet! I was so pleased with that thoughtful gesture!
We loved the location , my two boys, tween and teen enjoyed hiking and fishing the two private lakes!
We had great cell service and internet at the cabin.
We ate at Mountain Prime and Beau Jos and bummed around town! It’s adorable and was the perfect hub for the things we wanted to see and do! The views from the cabin were my favorite part. To wake up to that wa such a gift each day.
Thanks for an awesome experience:)
Be prepared for the elevation but it is worth it.
