Our group of 5 couples loved this house. It is large with plenty of space to be together or alone. The kitchen is very large and along with the pantry kitchen are well stocked .. The house is full of interesting furniture and artwork and so comfortable to be in. There is a lot of porches but the large screened in porch over looking the water is where we spent most of the time and ate at the table there that sat ten. There is also a deck right over looking the water where we had cocktails in the evening. The bedrooms are great... the master amazing. It was a hot week but there was a breeze from the lake and the rooms had fans. The National Wildlife Refuge right down the road has wonderful trails and overlooks. We also took kayaks and kayaked right from the house dock/waterfront. We wished we would have brought a croquet set as the side lawn would have been perfect for that. Jennifer, the owner was always available via phone.
The property is lovely, home is more than adequate for large groups of people to stay. The kitchen alone is a great space for entertaining a large group. Would definitely consider staying again.
The location is a slight bit remote; but the water views, deck out on the water, large back screened in porch, and views from many of its rooms make it a very relaxing place to stay.
Our whole family (thirteen of us) from various parts of the US, Canada, and Europe gathered for ten days to celebrate Christmas and New Year 2016 in Tabor House. The house is absolutely gorgeous, with so much space for everyone, the warm and lovely living room to spend fun evenings together by the wooden fireplace and the spacious private quarters to feel comfortable and relaxed. The huge and superbly equipped kitchen was the center of our daily activities where we thoroughly enjoyed cooking with the AGA stove and had so much fun. Although we did not have a white Christmas, we did get some snow later on during our stay, and enjoyed the view of the beautiful frozen lake, the walks by the nearby countryside and the natural reserve. Tabor House is definitely a unique place!!!! Didier & Anne, François and the kids
We rented the entire B&B for a 50th Wedding Anniversary vacation to celebrate with our children and grandchildren ~ 14 of us in all. Plenty of space. We cooked a lot and ate breakfast and dinner together each day on the porch. Daily outings to Montreal, Burlington and St. Albans. Very relaxing ~ beautiful weather. We had kickball, soccer and corn-hole games on the expansive lawn and indoors an ongoing cribbage tournament. Wonderful bird-watching!
We rented the entire place for our whole family for a week and it was amazing! There was 10 of us and we had plenty of space - all with our own bedrooms and most with our own bathrooms. We love to cook and eat big meals together and the dining area and kitchen were great for that. The kitchen has this cool AGA stove which was amazing to cook on once you got the hang of it.
There was plenty of stuff to do right on the property - canoe, bike rides, walks - plus you aren't far from Montreal, Burlington and other cool activities like Audible Chasm and the indoor water park at Jay Peak.
But if you are looking for the hustle and bustle of a crowded tourist area this isn't for you. Grocery stores and shopping aren't close but if you prepare correctly you hardly notice.
Guarantee we will be returning for another family vacation.
