This was the perfect apartment for our stay in Paris. We visited in November 2016. It was in an ideal location in the 4th arrondissement. We were within walking distance to almost everything. We were able to easily walk to Notre Dame, Louvre, Grand and Petit Palais, Pantheon, and a number of other places including many great museums. We walked to the big ferris wheel one evening and enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Village set up along both sets of the Champ Elysees. Vin Chard (hot wine) quickly become a favorite evening treat! The apartment was also close to a number of amazing restaurants, a delicious patisserie (bakery) where we got our morning pastries, a fish market and a Mono Prix department and grocery store. We were also very close to several metro stops to take us anywhere we wanted to go. We used the metro to go to Eiffel Tower, flea markets, Sacre Couer and the RER station to go to Versailles. We were able to see so many sights by staying in the heart of Paris.
The apartment itself was charming and cozy. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed to relax after a long day, make meals in the kitchen, do laundry and get a good night's sleep. There were bookshelves full of wonderful books, many of different sites and history of Paris and France. The house also includes free wifi that worked really well, and a phone so we could make reservations in Paris and make free calls back home to our family in the U.S. The ONLY potential downfall to the apartment is there are a couple flights of stairs to get up to the door and a narrow winding staircase to get up to the bedroom. It wasn't a problem for us, but is important to note in case it would be a problem for someone.
Olivier was a wonderful host. He met us promptly at the apartment to let us in, go the heat going, showed us around and how to use the washer/dryer. He even called us later to let us know where to get our photo taken for our metro pass. He was very easy to get a hold of before traveling to Paris and once we were there to answer all of our questions. We stayed for one week, and could have easily stayed much longer and been very much at home. We highly recommend this location for your stay in Paris!
Stayed here with my wife on our honeymoon. This was my first visit to Paris and the apartment had the Parisian charm I was looking for. There was a bookshelf full of travel books which was nice to help us navigate the streets and monuments. Bathroom was spacious and the kitchen had all the amenities we were looking for. The large terrace was great, we spent some evenings out there enjoying a glass of wine. It was nice to have the bedroom upstairs separate from the living quarters... The bed was comfy and I slept very well, but that could be attributed to the amount of walking we did and by the end of each day I was pretty exhausted. As stated in many of the reviews, the stairs leading up the the bedroom was steep which made getting up and down a little tricky but not overly difficult. The location is amazing, because when you visit Paris who wants to spend that much time in the apartment. It's close to public transportation, shopping and many cafes; the park 2 blocks away is a perfect place to plop down with some cheese and wine. Olivier was easy to deal with and responded to any of my inquiries in a prompt manner. I'd recommend this place to most anyone, it fits 2 people comfortably.
Very comfortable apartment, close to shopping, night life and the Paris attractions. Bus Lines and Metro stations within walking distance. Apartment is upstairs, requiring you to navigate several flights of stairs.. a bit difficult if you're carrying 20 kg luggage. However, once inside, the apartment is charming, with a comfortable sitting area with a multitude of books on Paris and France, a convenient kitchen, and even more convenient washer to do a load of clothes. There is an outside patio area just outside the kitchen area, with a table and two chairs just perfect for sitting and enjoying a bottle of wine, a loaf of french bread, cheese and fruit. The bathroom is large with two sinks, bath and shower, everything is modern and updated. The bedroom is upstairs, not too difficult to navigate the spiral staircase up to the area. Bedroom is large and has large closet space. The apartment manager was very attentive, taking care of us throughout our stay.. We would definitely stay again.
The apartment was just as it was represented on the listing, clean and well maintained. It is a very lovely quiet space and perfectly located in the bustling Marais - the noise from the very busy (at times) street does not intrude on the apartment at all. For us, the patio made the space extra special. It was easy to arrange entry with Olivier. The bed was super comfortable and the location could not be better. We had a wonderful experience.
My wife and I spent our 31st Anniversary here in the Le Marais district of Paris. The apartment was as described on HomeAway, 2 flights up a 150 year old buiding that was my vision of what it should look like. Terraces overlooking other apartments, wrought iron railings, original doors and windows, great light, appliances that work and more than enough hot water for two baths or showers. Everyone we met in the building, we were there for 8 days in late May 2016, were open and friendly. Sal met us at the door, (Hi Sal), showed us the important stuff, lights, heaters, appliances ,etc. The bed was comfortable, fresh towels, linens and blankets all provided. Again, great windows for morning light, another terrace and a TV. We never used the TV but for some its important. Also free WIFI and the hard line apartment telephone provided free international calling. The kitchen had 4 burner stove and oven, a few pots and pans and dishes for about 4. Microwave, toaster, coffee maker, small fridge and basic tools. It was nice to see olive oil, spices, coffee filters and other odds and ends provided. Again, what I expected and a little more. The stairs to the bedroom were not the big deal others have claimed. We are in our 60s and had no problems.
The location of the property was essential to us and more than met our needs. Three metro lines in easy 5 minute walks, and more quaint brassiers, cafes and specialty food shops than you can shake a stick at, all within 2 minutes. We walked to Louvre and Notre Dame and rode Metro everywhere.
We never needed any help with any items at the apartment so had no communication with Sal or Olivier while we were there. Leading up to the day we met Sal, communicating with Olivier was a breeze by Email or phone. I would highly reccomend this property to any other adventurers out there, have fun and by the way, Paris and the French people are beautiful.
This apt is on one of the best streets in one of best neighborhoods in Paris. The apartment is compact but designed in such a way that it is bright, airy and spacious. The kitchen is fully equipped with all the major appliances, including a washer-drier that is quiet and actually works! The bathroom has a double sink and a full bathtub with shower. The bedroom is on the second level and is large, with a flatscreen TV, a comfortable queen bed and ample closet space. Two terraces -- one outside the kitchen, the other off the bedroom are special features. Internet service and free telephone access are provided. A big bonus is a book collection that provides information on all you need to know about Paris and France. Everything is meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean. The stairs to the bedroom are narrow and steep, which may be a problem for oldsters.
The location in the Marais is close to many major sites,; to markets, stores and shops; to restaurants; and to the Metro a block away. You will not find a better place to stay. We loved it, and look forward to returning. A gem!
