We had a great two night stay at the Little House for Presidents Day weekend. The owners were extremely welcoming and a fresh loaf of bread was waiting for us on the kitchen counter when we arrived with the fire stove lit. All the essentials for a cozy night. We spent the weekend skiing at Wildcat Mountain and the owners were nice enough to let us borrow a pair of snowshoes to take along some of the Randolph Mountain club trails.
Very nice weekend away in the mountains!
We had a wonderful two night stay at The Little House. It is perfectly cozy and comfortable. It sits on a beautiful piece of land with a lovely view of the mountains. The hosts are welcoming, thoughtful, and authentic. We are sure to return as this is a truly special place!
The Little House is a great place to stay and enjoy a cup of tea or a glass of wine and good company.
The Little House is warm (figuratively and literally), inviting, calming, comfortable, and cozy.
My husband, dog and I were impressed by the owner's hospitality even before we drove to the White Mountains. The day before we were supposed to arrive Larry, the owner, contacted me and said we could come a day early free of charge as there was a winter storm coming on our scheduled travel day. To top it off on our arrival, there was homemade granola on the kitchen counter.
During our 5 day stay we cooked great meals in the complete kitchen and on the gas grill outside. We went for long walks on the Randolph Mountain Club trails right from our door, we could go for hours and hours. We went for hikes up Mount Madison and Mount Adams, both of which you can see from The Little House. The trailheads were about a 5 minute drive away. We would spend the evenings relaxing by the fire, playing games, watching movies, and making good meals.
The Little House has comfortable furnishings that are in warm colors, accessories that display a life of the owners and a history of the place. It was immaculate and well built, by Larry himself.
The owners were as good as they get. Their house is just down the driveway hidden by spruce trees. They were available if we needed them, but gave us our privacy. We connected with Larry and his wife, Yvonne and dog, Opal. They were generous, inviting, and fun.
Lovely cottage with equally lovely hosts! The cottage was as described and then some. Even more beautiful and cozy in person. Very well appointed!! We were so very comfortable and even enjoyed a meditation bundled in the Adirondack chair under the morning's sunshine in the crisp fall air facing the majestic mountain view....ahhhhh. Need I say more :) Thank you, Larry, Yvonne and Opal for sharing your lovely property!!!
The cottage is cozy and warm, even during a deep freeze--most nights were well below zero when we stayed. There are miles of trails you can hike, ski or snowshoe on right from the door. We barely used our car the whole week. Larry and Yvonne are over-the-top hosts, delivering homemade muffins and jam one morning, and inviting us to watch the Super Bowl at their beautiful home with them. The washer and dryer is a nice plus. We have stayed at many places in the White Mountains and in Maine, but this was by far the best. We hope to go back again...in the summer next time!
Second year spending Thanksgiving here and I'm grateful for peaceful time. The cottage has everything we needed for a great stay. We went to the state park to snow shoe, as there was a foot of snow to enjoy. Looking forward to coming back next year!
