GETTING AROUND & LOCATION:

We offer a free parking permit for your car if you will be driving. The permit with provide you with unlimited street parking in the nearby area for the duration of your stay.

Conveniently located right off DC's most prominent defining artery (North Capitol Street), offers a great launching point for DC/MD/VA work commutes or exploring the area. Most of the National landmarks are about a 15-20 min. car ride from the house. Public transportation to downtown is pretty easy from here:

Going downtown by bus: the 64 bus line is right outside the door and takes you directly downtown in about 20 minutes.

Going downtown by Metro: Ft. Totten metro station and Petworth metro station (Red, Yellow & Green line) are only a 15 min. walk from the house. The 64 bus line can also get you to either station in less than 5 minutes. You can take any of these metro lines directly downtown.

There is also a Capital Bikeshare Service location 1 block away from the apartment on New Hampshire Ave and Gallatin St. NW, in front of the shopping center. There are also Bikeshare locations at both Ft. Totten and Petworth metro stations if you would like to bike there or back. We recommend downloading and using their app to check for bike availability.


NEIGHBORHOOD

Petworth is safe, thriving and one of DC's newest up-and-coming neighborhoods and was recently named one of the best neighborhoods for night time dining by the Washington Post. Upshur St. offers an array of brand new restaurants in a one-tenth of a mile strip, and several multicultural great eats and bars along Georgia Ave. and Kennedy St.

Only a few minutes from several historical sites and parks including: President Lincoln's Cottage, Old Soldier's Home Golf Course, Rock Creek Church Parish, Grant Circle Park and Sherman Circle Park.

1 block away from essential amenities (grocery store, laundromat, liquor store), and several other grocery stores nearby (Yes Organic, Safeway, Walmart).
