Clean well-kept residence

Enjoyed our stay in this clean, well-kept residence! It offered everything we needed with plenty of linens, towels, kitchen utensils, coffee maker,toaster etc. Perfect for what we were looking for- few days in the city to enjoy C of C Graduation in an historic home. Front bedroom along the road can be noisy for some not used to traffic especially in the am. Off street parking is plentiful. Washer/Dryer a plus even though not needed for our short stay. The Iron and laundry detergent happen to be missing-unfortunately taken by prior guest. Car is definitely needed to get to Lower King St shops and College. Would recommend to others!

Great Location to all the Sights in Charleston

This is a really good option for a brief stay in Charleston. The apartment is well cared for and clean. The owner is very responsive and local. The only downfall is the seating arrangement in the living room isn't really conducive to hanging out or eating. The dining table was broken & to be fixed the next week. So perhaps, it would be easier to have a meal when it's fixed and could be pulled out from the wall. We ended up hanging out on the side porch which was comfortable. Overall, pleased with our stay.

Lovely home, great location!

I booked this historic home just a couple of weeks before the spring break for myself, my kindergartner, my friend and her 5 year old. We wanted a safe, clean, reasonably priced place in downtown and it met our expectations in every way. The property was exactly as described, no surprises. We appreciated small thoughtful touches- two sets of keys, guide to Charleston, laundry detergent pods, extra towels and blankets. Lois was prompt in responding to my emails.

We just had two minor issues. The wi-fi didn't work, even after contacting Lois and trying couple of passwords. We were out most of the time so it wasn't too big of an issue for us. Secondly we were a little concerned with the locks installed on two doors in the house. They seemed fragile enough to pop open with a good kick. Being all girls we were definitely afraid the first night but felt safe after meeting Lois and the neighbors living in other unit in the same property.

Our stay was quite comfortable and memorable. Proximity of Hominy Grill was a bonus. Starting our morning with their aromatic coffee made our day!

Clean and Cozy!

Our stay at Lois's property was delightful. The unit was very clean and nicely furnished! We especially thought the beds were so comfortable and got great sleep. Neighborhood is in walking distance to King St., which has many great restaurants/bars. Just two blocks away from the house is the Hominy Grill, must experience, esp breakfast.

Lois was helpful, available, and had a lot of great suggestions, plus the unit had a binder of things to do in Charleston. Washer/dryer is also included in the unit, which was a nice plus. Overall our stay was amazing and we were really happy with this place. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends!

Charming Historic Home

We rented this house over New Years with another couple.


Conveniently located ($8-$10 for Uner x to downtown for dinner)

Walking distance to bars

Hominy Grill around the corner

Cute house! Bigger than we expected!

Both rooms are good size

Nice amenities (loads of towles!) hotel style soaps, cleaning supplies, kitchen well stocked to cook!

Amazing front porch

Convenient parking

Could not hear neighbors upstairs!


Lois Lane's top notch service, always available and great hospitality

Cons/needs improvement:

Couldn't sign onto the Internet (owners said they will reevaluate)

Had to sleep at the foot of the queen bed, the bed or floors slanted down towards the head and there's no way I could sleep that way

Winter time could use more blankets. The master was warmer than the queen room so it was either we were cold or they were hot. I would have been fine on the cooler side, but the blankets were so light.

No couch in the living room. Couldn't get comfortable

Again, we loved the place. You will be pleased when choosing this as your home away from home!

Resposta do proprietário: We are so happy this guest enjoyed the apartment. We send a message by email or text to each guest as well as leaving a hand written note asking that if there is anything they need to let us know. We can't do anything about someone's needs if they do not let us know. We would gladly have delivered extra blankets had we know this guest needed them. As for the lack of a couch, the photos are very accurate and do not lead one to believe there is a couch in the apartment. The living/dining room accommodates a dining table, upholstered chairs for 4, an ottoman, a nestle of tables, and a tv table - all are pictured on-line. Our property is historic, built in the 1830's. We have never had a guest mention a problem sleeping in any of the beds but we will certainly check this out and if necessary will adjust the bed. Our wi-fi has been adjusted and is working fine.

Large apartment in good location

My husband and I stayed here for five nights. We wanted to be close to MUSC (you can't get much closer) and also be walking distance to restaurants and sights. This place was perfect! It's actually cuter than the photos and has lots of old school Charleston charm (slanty floors and interesting corners.) It's very clean and we enjoyed the kitchen and laundry facilities. Lois was really great and responded to a small issue we had right away. We ended up spending three weeks - one week in each of the three units (they are all fantastic, by the way, and on the same property - not that we really noticed that there were other people since each unit has a lot of privacy.)

We loved the nearby restaurants: Five Loaves Cafe, Fuel, and Hominy Grill

If you like laidback casual places with excellent food we recommend Sunrise Bistro Express (right around the corner), Persimmons Cafe, and Halo.

There is a yoga studio right around the corner and the apartment is a few blocks from King Street which has many stores, restaurants etc.

It was nice to stay in an apartment in a locals area and feel like we were living like a local. It's just slightly off the main tourist area, which we liked, but is close enough to get to see and do everything.

We highly recommend this and any of the apartments on the property!
