ABSOLUTE BEACHFRONT - Smooth Sailing Yorke Peninsula

We offer a beautiful beachfront holiday house where you can sit back and enjoy the magnificent views of Coobowie Bay to the lights of Edithburgh and Wind Farm. There is no road between you and the beach, just step off the front verandah to the lawn leading onto the sand. Internet provision is included, no big downloads please, (bring your Netflix and Stan account details ). House is tastefully decorated and includes modern and quality features. The living area and Bed 1 and Bed 2 all have full-width sliding doors to the front deck with water views. Lay back in bed and have that first cup of tea staring at the ocean views and weather of the day. Grass lawns to the front for kids to play.
The house comes with fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher with quality crockery and a Nespresso Coffee Machine. The lounge room has a 50" LED TV, Bluetooth soundbar, and Bluetooth music pod system.
Reverse Cycle Airconditioner. Ceiling Fans to Bed 1 & 2, and electric blankets add to comfort, and panel heaters in winter.
Quality quilts and pillows are provided all you need to bring our your own sheets, pillowcases, towels, and bath mat.

Notice: It has come to our attention that in FAQ area VRBO/Stayz have a glitch suggesting some properties have a pool. This is being investigated and to be removed, as our property does not include a pool. Please accept our apologies in advance for this. Guy (Owner) 25.3.24

The backyard is fully fenced making it safe for small children, and your pet is welcome (By Approval). Out of respect for guests with allergies and health issues pets are not allowed on beds or furniture, and we ask they be kept to the living area where possible. Please reach out to us about helping ensure any fur family is welcome, protected, and happy. As they say happy dog, happy life :) Prefer they sleep in their crate, in the LDry, or on their bed in the living room. In warm weather on the deck outside.

There is ample car parking for cars, boats, and trailers.

We provide a fish cleaning sink/area (there's plenty of fish to catch in these and nearby waters).

There is a new gas bbq, Weber Kettle, and outdoor setting.

Locality

Coobowie is a 2.5-hour drive from Adelaide. Nestled between Stansbury and Edithburgh. Coobowie is the perfect holiday destination for those who wish to escape from city life. You can spend your days watching the pelicans, fishing, walking on the beach, reading or just taking in the beautiful view.

Attractions

Great fishing at your doorstep with a boat ramp and jetty 5km away at Edithburgh, protected launch facilities for larger boats. Alternative free ramp at Hickeys Road - which is an extension of Beach Road, 1.2klms away, or Wool Bay free ramp.
Tennis courts, playground, General Store, and Hotel a 10min walk. The general store (open from 8.00 am-8.00 pm) has freshly cooked chicken and an extensive takeaway menu.
Monthly outdoor markets at nearby Stansbury. (October - May)
Tidal pool at Edithburgh (free)
Golf courses located at Edithburgh and Stansbury
Dine out at the many hotels and cafes nearby. Coobowie Hotel has loads of old fashion charm.
We like to support our local hotel, with great simple country food. Other Hotels in Edithburgh, Yorketown, and the Dalrymple Hotel at Stansbury.

Beautiful view from the front verandah! With such gorgeous weather, there is nowhere else we’d rather be. Our stay was both relaxing and fun. Wonderful beach walks, also walked to Edithburgh on the walk the Yorke’s trail…..fantastic! The house is well appointed with everything you need to a relaxing stay.

Beautiful accommodation in a quiet setting

Smooth Sailing at Coobowie is a lovely 3 bedroom, beach front house which was clean and comfortable and well maintained. There was plenty of space for 6 adults and the house is also dog friendly, with a secure back yard. Its a very short walk down a well worn path to the beach and short walk to the pub where you can get a decent meal. There is also a general store in the town who have a large variety of takeaway food. Overall we were very impressed with the accommodation and found the owners very helpful. Coobowie itself has limited facilities however, it's a 5 minute drive to the next town which has an IGA, cafe, tackle shop and an interesting museum.

Relaxing, fun, stay

Partner and I and two pets stayed at Coobowie Smooth Sailing mid March. What a little gem of a cottage/ house! Soon to be even better with an ensuite glamour boost. We stayed 4 nights. Be prepared for a brisk sea breeze, (there is a reason you can see a wind farm across the bay), but the front verandah is reasonably protected as is the enclosed back yard. Lots of local eating options, walks, beaches, you can't go wrong. Pets were negotiated and our cats had some walks on leads out the front, lots of fun. They also loved staring at the ocean/birds as the view is really great. We hope to return.

Always Amazing

I have stayed here many times over the years and will continue to keep coming back! The hosts are fabulous communicators, and have set up the house very well. Safe parking, a secure yard for the little doggo’s. Nice kitchen with dishwasher, laundry facilities, comfy beds and a spectacular view from bedrooms, even providing you with a sink for cleaning fish if you’re lucky enough to catch one! Thanks again for a great stay Guy & Julie! - the Begley’s!
