Tucked away from the noise and busyness of everyday life, is a quiet ''Carriage House'' apartment located just a few miles outside the quaint little Village of Intercourse, PA. Many Lancaster County attractions are nearby: Kitchen Kettle, Strasburg Railroad, Dutch Wonderland, Amish Quilt Shops, Rockvale and Tanger Outlet Malls, Sight and Sound Millenium Theatre, Shady Maple Restaurant/Smorgasboard and other Restaurants with Amish Cooking, Buggy Rides, Hot Air Balloon Rides.

Originally the Carriage House was an out-building which has been newly-transformed into a charming apartment with spacious high ceilings and cozy decor. It includes a flat-screen TV/DVD, an electric fireplace, comfortable seating area, dining table and kitchenette (sink/refrigerator/microwave/coffee maker.) A separate bedroom includes a painted armoire and a soft-as-a-cloud down comforter.

The spacious yard features a large gazebo, perfect for picnics, and you are invited to stroll through perennial gardens bursting with color in the summer, or relax in the hammock.

My husband and I live on the same 2-acre property as the guest suite, as do our neighbors who rent the house next door. Sometimes there are children playing outdoors or other family-related activities happening on the premises, but the Carriage House is in it's own space, and very private.

Wonderful Stay at the Carriage House Suite

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying at the Carriage House Suite. It was very clean and had everything we could have wanted. The bed was very comfortable and the surrounding area was extremely quiet. We are use to sleeping with a fan going and the standing fan they had stored in the closet was perfect. The location is perfect and close to everything. We can't wait to come back to the area and stay here again. We could not think of a better place to get away and relax.

Nice Little Place

Nice place to getaway for a few days. Mot far from Intercourse where there are a few things to do. About 20min to 30min to Shady Maple restaurant. Go hungry!

1st Trip to Pennsylvania Amish Country

The carriage house was absolutely perfect for our first stay in PA Amish Country. The location was great ! Pretty much anywhere you would want to visit was within a 10-20 minute drive. The property itself was very private and comfortable. The furnishings and bed were fantastic. Anything you could possibly need or want contained within! A nice electric fireplace, plenty of extra throw blankets, pillows, toiletries, kitchen supplies, coffee, snacks, and even a white noise machine! This place has it all! Hope to visit again sometime soon!

Peaceful carriage house

We had a peaceful weekend at this cozy carriage house. There are many extras in the home. Check in and check out was easy. We enjoyed driving around town and shopping at local stores. The weather was chilly so it was nice to sit by the fireplace and read a book after our adventures out. Thank you, Fan!

We have lived at this location over 30 years, and for nearly 25 of those years, my husband's mother lived next door to us. After she became sick and was no longer able to live in her home, we bought the property and combined the two properties into one. Grandma's house has become a long-term rental: behind her house in an outbuilding is the Carriage House. The suite is very private, with accessible parking and easy access. It features large windows and a sunny quiet space to enjoy a vacation in this lovely part of the country.

The bustling little "tourist town" of Intercourse is located just a few minutes from our property, but while you are at the Carriage House, the world slows down, and you can simply enjoy a peaceful, rural spot in Lancaster County.
