We had a wonderful time at La Palazzina with our group of 18 people. During the day our kids hung out by the pool with other children there and we spent our evenings together in the big house and were able to enjoy our family dinners together. Eloise helped us find the local shops needed to taste the local flavours of the region.
Would love to go back to visit again.
Booked 9 nights and have to say it was just fantastic. Our hosts, Eloise and Alessio were fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. Our accommodation in Palazinna was spacious and typically Italian with lots of charm and character. Outside was beautiful with well tended planting, so many places to sit and a lovely swimming pool with stunning views. Alessio's prosecco is superb and the scenery around the area is just out of this world. You are a few miles away from a supermarket but it is easy to find and there are some good restaurants a short drive away. Sienna is well worth a visit or two but if you just want to sit back and relax, then this a great place to unwind. So many beautiful villages to visit and so much great wine to drink! We hope to return and thanks again to Eloise and Alessio for making our holiday so special.
We loved our visit to this wonderful villa. It was a perfect location to explore Tuscany and the owners were so hospitable and pleasant. We cooked dinners in the totally adequate kitchen and had such a romantic suite with a view overlooking the garden and the hills. My husband used the pool a couple of times and we relaxed there our first day, so heavenly to have our wine outdoors and have a breakfast outside as well. We were only too sad to leave but know one day we could return, with our family too. You will not be disappointed in staying here at all.
Villa Dipendenza is absolutely wonderful. The picture is a good rendition of what the place looks like. The property is immaculate, and well maintained. The linens were crisp and clean. Beautiful gardens, and swimming pool area. We stayed in the large villa. Its a very old, old house, so it has alot of character and charm. When you walk onto the property, you can smell and see lavender everywhere! Eloise and her husband were very nice. Eloise is a doll. She is very customer service oriented, and always tries to help you with any request. We accidentally left FIVE fantastic wine bottles of Nero D'Avola in the town grocery store. We did not realize this until one day later, and Eloise called for us spoke to the owner, and he said, yes, I have it here for you. He opened the store because it was closed, and we got our wine. OH, and did I mention that this wine is a beautiful full bodied smooth wine for only $3.45 euros per bottle. It doesn't sound right, but that was the price!
Oh, and I have to mention their son, Leon, won our hearts. He is two years old, curly blond hair, and quickly became our friend once we spoke to him in his native Italian tongue! All in all the villa is well equipped. It could probably use a few more large serving dishes, but we were 11 people at one point during the trip. The master bathroom was delightful. I would open the window, smell the lavender, and turn on Andrea Bocelli while having a warm bath. Soooo nice! They also have nice wine and olive oil. They have their own vineyards. The prosecco was wonderful, although not grown by them, but we could buy it from them. The location is fantastic. Its about 20 minutes from Siena, 1 hour from Florence, and two hours from Rome. Oh, and there is an absolutely beautiful beach called Cala Violina which is near Grosseto and about 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Villa. All of the recommendations Eloise gave us for restaurants were great. The little restaurant in the town of Murlo is fabulous. I recommend going in June, because in July it starts to get really hot. This place is a MUST. We will return. Thank you Eloise for everything!
I just returned from my 2 1/2 week stay at Villa Dipendenza. We arrived on a rainy day, so it was hard to see the charm and beauty of this beautiful place. But the sun quickly came out and remained the entire time of our stay exposing the magic and beauty of this incredible place. Eloise and her husband have created a beautiful and relaxing ambience. Hillside views, flowers, lavender, palm trees, and gardens that only a green thumb and the Tuscan sun could cultivate. An awesome pool area where we spent many a day basking in crystal clean water and no sign of chlorine. The farmhouse villa where we stayed added the rustic Tuscan feel of a place over 450 years old, but with all the modern amenities (including free WiFi, hot water, great water pressure, dishwasher, flat screen tv). The location was perfect! 20 minutes to Siena, just a little further to San Gimignano/Volerra, and 30 minutes to other beautiful towns (Pienza, Montalcino, Montapulcino) and wine tasting; and who knew Tuscany had beachfront, one hour to closest beach which was gorgeous Cala Violina beach. Worth the 45 minute walk from our parking to get there. The vineyards in the hills of this region provided breathtaking landscapes and great wine tasting opportunities. Eloise speaks perfect English and was able to recommend restaurants and places to go. They make their own wine, so we sampled a very lovely red wine. In addition, Eloise had just received a shipment of Prosecco which she had previewed and purchased from a small farm in northern Italy. Delicious. We were happy to buy several bottles from her. Last, but not least, I cannot end this review without a mention of Leon who became our best little buddy during our stay. Will definitely come again to this beautiful place and recommend it to others happily.
Dear Eloise and Alessio,
We arrived well back home yesterday and want to thank you again for the wonderful stay in your agriturismo.
I cannot repeat enough that we were very pleased by your warm welcome, hospitality and the beautiful and typical accommodation. We experienced it as a little paradise in a splendid environment.
We will only have nice memories of our stay and will definitely think about it each time we will be opening one of the winebottles we took with us.
We wish you further a lot of success with the agriturismo and I do hope we’ll meet again.
