Great flat, great location, great location
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Michele's flat in Trastevere. The place makes an immediate impression on you, especially the high-ceilinged living room with its enormous cushiony red couch and big-screen TV, and the superbly equipped kitchen that opens onto a sunny and quaint terrace, where we ate most of our breakfasts. Michele is everything you'd want in a host; he stayed with us till we were clear on all the flat's features, and when we needed to contact him over a couple of little things during our stay, he was instantly available. He's an experienced host, and it shows in every aspect of his behavior. The essentials were all great--lots of hot water, tons of pots and pans and housewares, a dishwasher, a separate room for the washer and dryer, even a big collapsable umbrella on the terrace to shield you from the sun, The flat is no more than a two-minute walk from the Church of Santa Maria in Trastevere, a neighborhood that offers so many dining opportunities, you almost wish there were more meals in a day. The only drawback of the apartment goes hand-in-hand with the charm of its great location: Trastevere is loud. The interior bedroom of the flat is silent and easy to sleep in, but the bedroom that faces the street can be too loud for some. On weekends, it's particularly loud, so you need a tolerance for that sort of thing. Treat it like you're on vacation and it'll be worth it.
