We stayed in Katarzyny voor one week with our family of 6 (two parents and 4 adult children). The appartment is as wonderful as the description at the side. Enough space for everyone and a good place to rest during our busy days in beautiful Krakow. It was clean and we found all we needed. The location in Krakow was also very good, we walked almost everything! The reception by the local manager was very friendly and helpful. We will recommend this appartment absolutely sure to friends and everyone who reads this. Honestly we hope to get back once more by ourselves!
My family of four (two adults, two children, 8/10) stayed here in June of 2015. We were extremely pleased with the apartment. Jo was very accessible via e-mail, and we were met as promised at the apartment upon our arrival. The place is beautifully decorated; pay particular notice to the wonderful photographs on the walls, the work of one of the co-owners. The owners have provided helpful guidebooks for guests' use, along with many maps of not only Krakow, but the surrounding area. The apartment is on a quiet street, a stone's throw from Jewish Kazimierz and the now-hopping Podgorze area across the Vistula. Grocery store, fruit stand, and bakery are a one-minute walk away. I highly recommend this place, and plan to return.
Our three days in Kazimierz, the Jewish quarter of Krakow, were excellent.
We enjoyed staying in this flat- splendid place to relax from sightseeing.
There was a welcome- bottle of wine as well as water and some sweets (if I remember right). It's the gesture that counts!
The contact with the Landlady before and after the stay was nearly as among close friends.
In Kazimierz there is ever so much to discover- and it's all nearby. Within a 5/10 minutes walk you'd reach any place in Kazimierz.
And to the central place (Rynek) in Krakow you dont' walk longer than a quarter of an hour either.
Go for breakfast (as we did every morning) to the "Nova" right by the "Plac Nova".
in the cenrte of Kazimierz.
In the evening don't miss to attend a Klezmer-concert in the "Klezmer-Hois" (or in one of the Synagogues).
To summarize: an tremendous trip- thanks certainly not only to Krakow and Kazimierz but also to the most pleasant flat.
(But you must be ready to climb 68 sone-steps!)
We'd recommend it to friends- no doubt.
This apartment was a great find! The owner, Jo, is very helpful. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a small map of the city in the mail with the apartment marked on it as well as an outdoor pub/beer garden close by in case we need to wait to check in. She also emailed me an extensive list of restaurant, bar, and cafe recommendations, including an amazing, but teeny tiny ice cream shop, which was delicious.
The pictures are true to the apartment. Everything was clean. There is plenty of space for a family or group of friends. Our small group utilized all of the bedrooms and we appreciated the open plan kitchen, living, and dining room. There is also a small balcony off the dining area, which is great for getting some air, especially in the summer. The apartment is not air conditioned, but fans are provided, which we definitely used in July! The bedrooms and bathroom all have sky lights that can be opened for ventilation.
I would say the only draw backs, for some people, is that there is no elevator/lift so you will need to walk up a few flights of stairs, and there is a bit of road noise from the tram that runs along the street perpendicular to the street the apartment is on. But if you are there in the colder months and have the windows closed, this should lessen the noise.
We liked staying in Kazimierz because it wasn't as touristy as the main market square area. There are also great restaurants and cafes in this area, so it is fun to explore.
I would highly recommend this apartment and its owner, Jo!
The apartment is brilliant; spacious, warm (we underestimated the temperatures in late October in Poland) and really well designed and equipped. Jo is hugely helpful, take not of her bar and restaurant recommendations! A superb break with fantastic accommodation.
Jo was helpful and informative from the moment we booked . The apartment was clean spacious with a lovely balcony and perfectly located. It is 5 minutes from the old Jewish quarter which we preferred to the busier main square. We spent our evenings wandering to the square and relaxed with food and drink (so cheap) and people watched the evenings away. Krakow is amazing has something for everyone and has fast become one of our favourite cities. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect introduction in renting this wonderful apartment. If you are thinking of going to Krakow make it a minimum of 6 days as a weekend will not be long enough !!
