Enjoy privacy & stunning mountain views at C'an Barracuda. Set within it's own beautiful gardens, with PRIVATE POOL & HOT TUB, this contemporary & stylish villa is perfect for families wanting to “get away from it all”, yet is walking distance of the old town and a short drive from beaches at Puerto Pollenca and Cala St Vicenc.

A unique feature of Villa Barracuda is the “aquarium style” swimming pool in the centre of the house - tiled in an artistic, bespoke “Miro” style, with views into the pool from large windows in four rooms.

The accommodation is on the ground floor and an extensive sun deck with American style outdoor kitchen surrounds the swimming pool upstairs. Soak up the sunshine on the private pool deck sipping ice cold beers on comfy sofas, relaxing on sun loungers, sinking into huge bean bags, taking a dip in the pool or bubbling in the jacuzzi.

There is a roof around the perimeter of the pool deck which provides welcome shade in the heat of the day, and a more cozy atmosphere after dark. Sofas are placed near an outdoor fireplace which is the perfect area to relax in the evening with a glass of delicious local wine, to watch the crackling flames and star gaze.

There is an outdoor shower and a separate shower room/WC off the entrance terrace so guests do not have to tread wet feet into the house when nature calls.

We sourced most of our outdoor kitchen from America. It offers a wood-fired pizza oven, large gas BBQ, gas hob, fridge and sink with hot water. The kitchen is stocked with plenty of crockery, cutlery and utensils.

Villa Barracuda is located at the foot of the Tramontana mountains in north Mallorca, within walking distance of Pollenca old town (approx 2km) and a 6km drive to the Port of Pollenca.

We renovated the property in 2016, drawing inspiration from international artists we admire. Features include air conditioning, fast speed FTTP broadband, TVs, Netflix, Sonus music system and video entry system.

The house provides very spacious accommodation, with a layout ideally suited to couples or two families. There are four large bedrooms with queen size beds (two beds can be split into single beds upon request). Each bedroom has an en-suite shower-room (one with bath), fitted wardrobes, TV and access to private sun terrace.

The large, cool, living room has views over the lovely gardens and patio doors open to a covered terrace which catches the evening sun. This room is a nice area to relax with comfy leather sofas, a large TV and a dining area with a beautiful glass table that seats eight.

The fitted kitchen features a central island finished in local, natural stone, with the cooking area at one end, and bar stools at the opposite end for casual eating or company for the chef! Appliances include two built-in Neff fan ovens (one is a combination microwave/oven), induction hob, American style fridge/freezer with chilled, filtered water, dishwasher, wine fridge, Nespresso coffee machine and an abundance of cupboards and drawers with almost every utensil and appliance a cook could desire.

From the kitchen, French doors open into a pretty, pebbled terrace set around the original well, which is now topped with a circle of natural stone and surrounded by bar stools. This area captures the morning sun and is the perfect place to enjoy breakfast or cosy evening dining.

A glass door from the kitchen leads into the striking entrance terrace with steps to the huge, wooden front door and further steps leading up the pool area.

In addition to the living room, there are two informal lounge areas with sofas.

Stunning, Mediterranean GARDENS surround the house and amount to approximately one third of an acre; screened on all sides by stone walls, fencing and established trees, palms & bushes, providing a high degree of privacy and seclusion. The majority of the garden is lawn, interspersed with mature, specimen palms and trees.

The villa is accessed via an electric gate opening into the large driveway affording parking for a number of cars. Guests are given a code to open the gate.

A discreet terrace serves as a laundry area with washing machine and clothes lines for guest use. Guests also have use of a vacuum cleaner, iron & ironing board, broom, dustpan & brush and other cleaning products & utensils for their own convenience and hygiene.

Bath and pool towels are changed mid-week, and bedding is changed at the end of each week. Should guests require cleaning every day, and/or additional towels / bedding, this can be arranged at an additional cost.
WELCOME HAMPER:
We welcome all our guests with a selection of locally sourced treats and wine so they can relax whatever time they check in, without having to rush to the supermarket!

HYGIENE:
In accordance with current COVID 19 regulations, the property is deep cleaned between guests. Hand sanitiser is provided for guests.

All the bathrooms are stocked with complimentary soap, shower gel and shampoo.

Dishwasher & laundry tablets are also provided.

Meal preparation - either at the villa or prepared meals can be delivered.

SPORTS AND FITNESS:
Cycling is one of the most popular sports in Mallorca and the north of the island is particularly favoured for challenging rides through the mountains and stunning scenery. Please ask for cycle hire recommendations and cycle guiding.

For those wishing to maintain their fitness on holiday, PERSONAL TRAINING can be arranged, private Yoga sessions at the house or on a paddle board at the beach. Ask us for recommendations.

INFORMATION/INSTRUCTIONS:
We have a very detailed information book which is left at the property, with instructions for all appliances, medical, security & emergency information, restaurant recommendations and holiday activities. There is also a file of activity brochures for guest use.

Wonderful Break
We had a wonderful stay here. Kids loved the pool which was set into the middle of the property and could be viewed from the kitchen and sitting room. We spent most of our time on the pool deck taking advantage of the outdoor kitchen, eating and relaxing areas. The grounds are beautifully kept and views from the pool deck are stunning. Host was very friendly & helpful with tips of what to do in the area.

Just as it says on the tin!
Barracuda is in an exceptionally peaceful, upmarket urbanisation, close to Pollensa old town. We were very happy with the standard, which is exactly what we expected. The villa had everything we needed, with lots of covered sitting and dining areas on the upper floor. It was, however, unfortunate that the air con had failed just prior to our arrival on a very hot week and could not be fixed whilst we were there. This was an important factor for us when booking and, in our view, should have been recompensed, Although Wendy did her utmost by providing fans and mobile units (not a patch on a proper system)

We have been holidaying in Mallorca for around 20 years. When our three children were younger, we rented villas in Pollenca each summer and often came over for long weekends as a couple.
We had been looking for a second home abroad, and this villa appealed to us because (a) we knew and loved the area, (b) the house is in a gorgeous, peaceful area, (c) the gardens were (and still are) stunning and well maintained, and (d) we were blown away by the unusual swimming pool which is in the centre of the house!
We both saw the potential to modernise the house and create somewhere really special that was also large enough to accommodate all our offspring and their partners.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

One of the things that appealed to us about this property is the extensive outside "living" space.
The entire roof is the deck around the pool.
We re-tiled the pool in an unique Miro style with mosaic tiles and installed aquarium style windows in the pool, which allow guests to see into the pool from inside the house.
We also re-laid the entire pool deck and built an outside kitchen. We imported some of the kitchen appliances from America; they include a gas BBQ, gas hob, large fridge, sink with hot water and a (very popular!) wood-fired pizza oven. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery and utensils.
We also created an outside fireplace and placed a comfy sofa in front. We have spent many nights snuggled up on the sofas with a crackling fire in the grate, and gazed up at the stars in the night sky.
Another popular feature is our hot and bubbly, seven person jacuzzi on the pool deck.
The gardens are beautiful. We have planted many more specimen palms and trees and installed outside lights so the garden can be enjoyed at any time of day. We have extensive lawn areas and many mature pines, palms, yukkas, orange and lemon trees.
Inside the house, we have refitted the kitchen, adding a large, central island with a cooking area at one end and space underneath for bar stools at the other. We chose quality Neff ovens and hob, an American fridge freezer with water filter, wine fridge and dishwasher. We also created a lovely seating area around the original well; refitted the bathrooms - creating spacious, modern shower rooms (one with a bath too) and created a large, cool living/dining room with patio doors across one wall opening to a covered terrace and views over the gardens.
We have TV's in all the bedrooms, kitchen and living room with Sky TV and Netflix, Sonus music system around the house and air conditioning in all rooms.
