Quinta quarto e banheiro no piso superior.
I have to say this property is simply stunning! I had been in communication with the owner Karin for many weeks prior to our trip and she was excellent, helping us with every aspect of our trip.
The property its self is perfect and wouldn't have changed it one bit. For 7 guys travelling this was a great social environment to have a great weekend away. The mystery behind the property makes you question the grandure and past of the property which adds to the beauty.
I would strongly recommend this property to anyone who views it.
From a location point of view it is a pleasent 30 minute walk to the heart of Rome so not far at all.
Thank you Karin for a great stay!!!!
Absolutely a fantastic stay! Couldn't have asked for a better house to stay at during our week vacation. Karin, our host was extremely helpful in all aspects of our stay. It was a perfect amount of space for 4 couples, with a nice kitchen to cook in. This sweet get away was very close to most touristy places and just a cab ride away from the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the Vatican. There are also many great restaurants around the villa and the host had many suggestions that were nice as well. The grocery store is very convenient, only about 1 mile away along with a great cafe to get cappuccinos from. I can't wait to come back one day and hopefully stay here again!
We had a wonderful four days in Rome and were able to do everything we wanted to do from the location of this fabulous town house.
Frankly the house was amazing - easy to get to, central, lots of nearby essentials (like shops, cafes and restaurants) around the surrounding streets. Its recent renovation has given the property a new lease of life and has plenty of communal living space and a lovely garden (which we really appreciated).
Karin (the property's owner) could not have been more helpful and the advice she offered us on our arrival gave us all we needed to know to for our short break here.
It was an absolute delight to stay at and we will definitely return here for our next visit to Rome.
First, I cannot say enough about how very helpful Karin was with information and assistance. This was our first trip to Rome, so having the advantage of her knowledgeable recommendations was appreciated. She made reservations for us at a local restaurant, arranged shuttle transport for departure, and provided transit recommendations from Florence (even checking local train schedules). When she learned my mother would be departing just after our transport from Tuscany to Rome, she arranged for the shuttle driver to arrive earlier and drive my mother past the most popular sites on the way to the airport. Very thoughtful and certainly not expected. We also had the advantage of the incredible cooking talents of her young adult daughters - who are lovely, smart, funny, and very gracious - not to mention amazing cooks! Hands down, the best Tiramisu any of us has ever tasted. (We are still hoping they share the recipe.) The house is a treasure with beautifully painted walls and ceilings in the living areas and a lovely conservatory on the back end of the entry level - which opens up to the garden area. I wish we had more time just to enjoy the home - and especially this area of it. The bathrooms on the bedroom level were plentiful. There are appreciated amenities including hair dryers, travel packs of tissues, and small candies. The linens are traditional of a bed and breakfast property. As a business owner, internet connectivity is a must when I travel. The wifi at this property was amazing and we all used it a lot. The location is good for healthy walkers. Karin provided us with bus and trolley pick up locations. However, if your time is limited, we recommend using Uber car service, as they are affordable and their app is very user friendly. This is an older - multiple level - home, so you should be mindful of this, as it is a part of its charm. Karin showed us how to work the breaker box, in case with such a large group, we tripped a breaker. On our last day, we did experience an issue with the hot water broilers, but it was Christmas Eve and it did not make sense to us to have someone come to the property to service on a holiday. We heated water the old fashion way and were able to make due just fine. Due to unfortunate circumstances back home, we had to leave on Christmas Day. Karin was a delight in assisting us with our changes and very understanding. I imagine we will visit this lovely property again some day.
From the outside the villa was impressive. It was also in a beautiful, safe area. Perhaps if they took as good care of the inside as they did of the outside I might have been able to give it a good review.
We did read one not-so-good review before we went and questioned Karin about it. She told us "those people were a pain". Implying of course, that the guests, not the home was at fault. Unfortunately, that proved not to be the case.
The amenities and accommodations left a lot to be desired. We had bleach stained, frayed towels and bed sheets. Out of the 5 bathrooms, the master bathroom was beautiful, 2 on the 2nd floor were fair, 1 on the lower floor was dreadful, and the one in the attic was awful. Only two bathrooms had ventilation and all needed repair work of some sort or another.
We weren't sure what the cleaning charge was for because it certainly wasn't clean. Curtains were dusty and in need of cleaning and the kitchen had a cutting board that we didn't dare put food on.
One of the bedrooms had no fan and another had a non-working one. They were stuffy and hot and it t wasn't possible to open the windows because the rooms would quickly fill up with mosquitoes. The TV didn't work and it didn't get repaired until our 4th day there.
There were burnt out light bulbs all over the villa. You would think the owner would have those simple details in good order. The house had beautiful "bones" but it needs lots more care before anyone could all it luxury.
Very disappointing and would not recommend it. I would suggest that you find another place or set your expectations very low for this one.
We spent a week at this property in April 2013. Our party was a family of ten adults visiting Rome as part of a sixtieth birthday celebration. Right from the start the owner, Karin, was fantastic. She speaks perfect English and went out of her way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. This included arranging convenient and reasonable airport transfers, recommending a number of good restaurants in the area and also booking a table in a lovely restaurant for the birthday night itself.
The apartment was very large and could easily accommodate us all without feeling like we were on top of each other. There are good shops close by and nice places to eat. The Villa Borghese is only a few minutes walk away providing lots of open space and greenery.
The apartment’s facilities were reasonable and the security was good. The property could do with a few minor repairs but this did not detract from our stay at all. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here for a large group or a family. Thanks for looking after us Karin.
