This self catering holiday apartment is well presented and situated within ten acres of wildlife reserve, organic small holding and landscaped garden. The large lake within the reserve is home to many species of birds including Kingfishers and Herons and has also been known to home an Otter. Please be aware there is a large lake, a small river and lots of wildlife in the grounds therefore children should be supervised at all times.
Originally a small port, the village of Hollesley (pronounced Hose-Lea) includes the hamlet of Shingle Street, where the River Alde finally meets the sea, emerging from the shingle spit of Orford Ness. Surrounded by great footpaths this area of Suffolk has some fantastic views over the countryside and the North Sea. Although Hollesley seems like a remote location it is only 8 miles from the busy market town of Woodbridge with its wealth of independent shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Also nearby is the charming village of Orford and a bit further up the coast is the popular traditional seaside town of Aldeburgh.
