Beautiful property but not without its glitches
Glitches: we drove over 500 mi to this condo and i asked our property mgr. if we could simply hang our clothes in the closet when we arrived early afternoon so we would have room in our car to pick up my brother who is gravely ill with cancer. Even though the condo was not rented when we arrived, we were not allowed to hang our clothes. It was a needless hassle for no good reason. Then, we waited around for almost 3 hrs. to get in the condo at check-in time and the code wouldn’t work. It was almost 10 min. after 4pm before we could get in. How ridiculous! Next, the tv in the master bedroom wouldn’t work. It took almost 48 hrs to get this issue resolved. And, finally, the internet went out. It took almost 2 days to resolve this problem. Turns out the router just needed to be reset - but no one knew where the router was. The mgmt. company kept insisting it was in the condo which it was not. Quite accidentally we discovered it was on the floor above us, and a lovely member of the condo staff reset the router lickety-split. In fairness, the mgmt. company offered to comp our last night of an extended stay which i thought was a gracious offer on their part. On balance, i’d recommend this condo bldg and would stay there again.
Disappointed that Vrbo now has a reservation fee
We visited during July 4th week. This was our first visit to Panama City so we weren’t sure what to expect. We were impressed with the online listing but were nervous it might be too far off the beaten path. We shouldn’t have worried because it was perfect for us. It is only a ten minute ride to the beach and St Andrew’s park. But the location also made it much quieter which we really enjoyed. No late night noise. The pool is amazing and was never crowded. We were always able to grab one of the cabanas and didn’t have to be dodging pool toys all the time. We enjoyed spending hours poolside. We also saw reviews for other resorts complaining about the speed of the elevators. Not here! It is an 8 story building and we never waited more than 15 seconds for it.
The booking and communications was very good. There was consistent emails prior to our trip providing relevant information. We also received a call on the day of our arrival checking on our arrival time. They wanted to make sure someone would be there to greet us. There was a small problem when their email did not include the access code. But I made one phone call and they took care of it immediately.
Finally, the condo itself was wonderful. It was very clean and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable and the balcony was amazing. We spent a lot of time out there enjoying the views. The kitchen was fully stocked and we enjoyed eating breakfast and some lunches there. The only negative is there is no dining table so you need to sit at the breakfast bar or on the balcony. Not a problem for us but could be for others.
Our only complaint is the website mentions the marina and Pelican restaurant that is on site. They failed to mention that it is actually on the Sheraton’s property next door. That property was damaged by the hurricane and was still closed during our visit so those options were not available. Not the end of the world but it was definitely disappointing as our daughters were looking forward to using them. Overall we loved our stay and will definitely plan on staying there again. Highly recommended.
Great property. Amazing pool.
I little piece of paradise
The place was very clean and well-maintained. There are many restaurants and activities in the area.
August 2018 - perfect location for quiet week
I stayed in unit 509 at Reflections with my husband during the first week of Aug 2018 We are both age early 50's. Absolutely beautiful inside, clean and well-maintained. Grounds were the same, beautiful and well-maintained. Pools and hot tub looked brand new and were never crowded. In fact usually we were the only ones there. Very very quiet resort, away from any of the typical beach riff raff. Golf course nearby (we played twice). Onsite spa (didn't use). Private beach (didn't use)
I give 4 stars and not 5 because:
1) There is a boardwalk restaurant/bar called Pelicans we were very much looking forward to relaxing in for a cocktail, snack, lunch and/or easy walking dinners. On Monday, our first full day, we were informed Pelicans will only be open during weekends. We checked out on Friday so not available at all. We saw several other couples/families who were headed there and also turned away. Whatever
2) I received phone and text confirmations from at least 5 different people representing Reflections or Sterling properties, each stating they were my "Host" before and during my stay. Some confirmed perfectly my reservation details. Others had no idea who I was, dates of arrival/departure, etc. The multiple contacts really only served as unnecessary confusion. We had a late arrival, after 6 pm, and were told that our Host doesn't work late, so no one would be hosting after all and showing us around grounds. Whatever
3) In the listing for Sterling / Reflections it stated "a free round of golf daily" when I booked in Feb (for August rental). It certainly wasn't a make or break deal to book here because of this perk - but trying to redeem the free round of golf daily was a joke. And of course the multiple people who called me could not help, nor book tee times or nor arrange or approve. First they said this special was revoked. OK but its in my contract, right? Finally my husband pressed and pressed after we had already stayed 2 nights there and they paid the golf course for 1 person for 1 round of golf when he really had to stress this point. Again whatever.
It is a very beautiful rental with a beautiful view of St. Andrews Bay. Highly recommend
