We absolutely loved this property the views are stunning. Ardrgoom is a beautiful place.
We were lucky to have a heatwave for a couple of days we also had bad fog but all the changing weather with that view is fantastic.
Getting up to see the sunrise and walk down to the pier in the evening to see the sunset is amazing.
The house was spotless and very comfortable everything you need and the owner and Hannah were extremely friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this house the views are out of this world.
Thank you Maureen & Hannah.

We have just returned from a week's stay in Maureen's beautiful house on the Beara Peninsula. It was even better than we had hoped. The house is absolutely gorgeous, and kept in immaculate condition thanks to the caretaker Hannah, who we met on arrival and could not have been more helpful. It is a very spacious and comfortable house, with every gadget and amenity you could wish for. The views from the huge windows are spectacular. The house is quite remote which means there is not a sound to be heard apart from the occasional sheep in a nearby field - bliss! There are very many marked walking trails in the area, with remarkably little traffic on the roads. We were unlucky with the ever-changing weather, but even in dull weather, Beara is magnificent. There are many little towns to visit (don't miss Dursey Island), and it was always a thrill to return to Maureen's comfortable house at the end of the day. Highly recommended.
Wish there were more stars... !!! We had a perfect week at Maureen's Place on the Beara Peninsula! The location is just amazing, sitting atop a hill overlooking the Bay where mussel beds lay in the water below, while mountains all around change character with the time of day and weather. Drives around the Ring of Beara far surpass the views and sights (and traffic) of the Ring of Kerry... Healy Pass is breathtaking! The house is so beautiful and absolutely immaculate! (Thanks to Hannah, the local caretaker, who takes such pride in making it welcoming and spotless.). The joy of coffee in the morning sitting at the patio table and listening to utter peace and quiet, looking out at the water and mountains.... Ahhhh, such bliss! The house is extremely well stocked, and The kitchen was wonderful... Sufficient cooking utensils, bakeware, pans, etc.... It is stocked for those who love to cook, and makes it so fun to "play house" for a week. We have been to Ireland 14 times in 14 years, and we would list this accommodation among the top we have ever had. Maureen was very friendly and helpful throughout the process. Loved dinner at Mullins Village Inn in Ardgroom since Mullins is my family name. One more hint.... Be sure you have lots of memory on your camera chip... You will need it to capture the house, view and wonderful area!
Excellent place and great views. Local people were very friendly.
I highly recommend the place to other guests.
Although already a month ago we still reminisce about the great week we had in this huge house with an amazing view of the inland sea.
The house was just perfect, furniture was comfortable, the kitchen is very big and very well equipped, probably depends on what you’re used to but for us it was a beautiful kitchen. Basically the pictures almost do justice to how nice and comfortable the house itself is..
The house is about 3 miles from the local village of Ardgroom which has, as far as we could detect, a small supermarket/coffee-/tee-shop/restaurant, and a local pub.
Personally I felt that the only thing that could be considered missing was a Wifi-Internet link. But then again, that had its own advantage. Not being able to check my work-mail kept things pretty relaxed.
The view from the front of the house is beautiful. The house is about a 100 meters away from the water. You can’t really get to the water there due to the growth and quite a steep drop as the house is about 30 meters or so up the hill. But less then 5 minutes walking down the road and you find you can actually do a little beach walk (not a sandy beach of course).
Then the people, everyone was extremely friendly, watch out on the roads though, they can be quite narrow and are very windy. But then again, the rugged landscape definitely makes up for that. It is just amazing to drive around or take a couple of hours to walk a little way of the beara way, a challenging but beautiful walk.
It’s only about 20-25 minutes driving to CastleTown-berre (or bearhaven) which has a nr of nice restaurants and large supermarket.
And then, a little further away (about 40-45 minutes) there is Kenmare, where we went two evenings to enjoy the traditional Irish folk music during dinner.
For us this was a great holiday (yes we were extremely lucky with the wheather, we only had rain on one afternoon and that was on the day before we left for home). So this is one house that I would recommend, it does not compromise, it has all facilities you want. It is isolated but not too isolated. Perfect getaway
