A few kilometers away is the Oriented Natural Reserve of the Zingaro. The Zingaro coast is one of the very few stretches of the coast of Sicily that is not contaminated by the presence of a coastal road, best reached by sea for swimming in crystal clear waters in small natural bays. The original landscape was made up mostly of evergreen Mediterranean forest. 39 bird species nest in the reserve, including the peregrine falcon and Bonelli's eagle.

The archaeological park of Selinunte (it was an ancient Greek city on the south-western coast of Sicily) is composed of five temples built around an acropolis. Of the five temples only temple E (the so-called temple of Era) has been rebuilt.
