The house is in the beautiful Tarn-et-Garonne area of south west France. It benefits from a near Mediterranean climate and whether it's walking or biking through the lush green countryside, ambling through medieval villages, visiting the many bustling farmers' markets, fishing or canoeing through rapids, you will not be at a loss for something to do. The area is well-known for its gastronomic specialities such as truffles, duck and goose delicacies, mushrooms, white garlic, Reine-Claude plums, Quercy melons, Moissac cherries, saffron and chestnuts. You can also visit local producers by foot from our house - see the Gascon pigs lazing in the woods or watch the goats being milked to make Rocamadour cheese.
The lovely medieval towns of Villefranche-de-Rouergue (22km) & St Antonin Noble Val (24km) both have large markets which rival any in France. There are also several beautiful hilltop towns nearby: Najac (20 km), St Cirq-LaPopie (27km) & Cordes sur Ciel (40km) as well as the famous capital of the Tarn - Albi (64km).
