Situated on the Placencia Peninsula in the beautiful country of Belize, you're bordered by the Caribbean Sea on one side and a lagoon on the other, with jungles and the Maya Mountains in the distance offering a fantastic backdrop to your Central American vacation.

The amenities of The Villas at Cocoplum are varied enough to spend an entire vacation within the grounds of the gated community! Besides the pool, the hot tub and the beach, there is a pier for relaxing, fishing or watching dolphins and manatees swim by, and magnificent tropical gardens to wander through.

All of the amenities - including the Caribbean Sea beyond - can be glimpsed from the windows and balcony of this beautiful three-bedroom penthouse condo. Bohemian and elegant with peaked ceilings and contemporary Central American art and textiles, this condo is both luxurious and casual.

Curl up on sofa to read or update your social media via free WiFi, or head out to the balcony for a delightful sea breeze. The shaded deck is 300 square feet of views and comfortable seating. Take in views over games of cards and a plate of fresh fruit with a bottle of wine.

Try your hand at Central American cuisine - or cook up some of your homestyle favorites - in this gourmet-inspired kitchen with granite counters, stainless steel appliances, mahogany cabinets, and a mosaic tile backsplash.
If you would prefer to grill - your own private BBQ on the veranda is ready for your catch of the day!
Eat at the breakfast bar or out on the patio, then put the dishes in the dishwasher for easy cleanup.

Sleep deeply in three bedrooms. With a king and a queen bed plus one single on top, this home is just right for friends or a family to share, offering privacy when needed. The third bedroom is in the loft and has a queen-sized bed. Six guests total can sleep here. The master has an attached bathroom and the second and third bedroom share 1 bath.

Additional amenities include A/C units and a private washer/dryer. Furthermore, there is a little workspace in the loft and the unit has a dedicated internet.

Excellent! Top notch apartment and host.

First of all, many thanks to Herbert - our gracious host. Your communication and helpfulness made a world of difference as we began our adventure exploring Belize. Prompt responses, on point recommendations, and super easy to coordinate with. Second, the apartment itself was exactly as pictured. Clean. Spacious. Great view. And all the needed amenities including dishwasher, and in suite laundry (with a dryer). I'd highly recommend this unit. It was in the middle unit of 3 buildings, with the patio overlooking the Caribbean and the pool and beach areas. Felt private. The loft upstairs was perfect for our 9 year old to have his own space, and the second bedroom had a full size bunk bed with a twin on top. Plenty of space for the 5 of us. Lots of towels, and two full bathrooms. We were not bothered in any way by the construction noise, which was all around Placencia. It wasn't really a bother and didn't obstruct any views. The location itself was quiet in a gated area with security 24/7 so no issues with safety. It took a moment to adjust to the "open" patio but it was super convenient to access the pool and just two flights of stairs to this third floor unit. We just made sure to lock the front and back doors anytime we left the apartment. The pool was clean, the hot tub was perfectly hot and we enjoyed the kayaks and paddleboards. The ONLY negatives I could come up with are the bugs outside and fire ants in the bushes surrounding the property (so bring your bug spray).

The Best!

Herbert made the check in process so easy and he was so welcoming you felt right at home. The condo itself was beautiful and the kitchen was stocked full with every kind of cooking equipment you could need. There is even your own gas grill on the patio! The beds are super comfortable, plenty of towels and extra sheets. Lots of little extras. The property was beautiful!!! The pier has a bar seating area and lounge chairs and is a great place to eat swim and just hang out. The staff is amazing!! So nice!! Gated community and 24 hr security. I thought the location was great.! About 20 minutes into town and within 40 minutes of many attractions including the preserve! Highly recommend staying here. You won’t be disappointed!!

Mostly great

Herbert was there to greet us, went well-very nice and helpful. Alvaro (maintenance/grounds) was AMAZING! if you needed something he was there, cannot say enough about him. Access to Naia was nice, great restaurant and spa. We were on the 3rd floor: beautiful views. This property was the closest to photos of any place we've stayed. Yes, there are some little maintenance items that need to be worked on, but nothing outrageous. I am allergic to dust and I did have some problems here. So stripped all bedding (including covers) and washed, Left the mattress open to air and sun, it helped a bit. Not super happy about no bathroom at the pool - up 3 flights every time you needed to use it. The whole peninsula is having issues with sargassum - it made the beach not real swimmable. Belize in general isn't telling people about this, and I guess as the season goes on the locals say it gets worse. The biggest issue I had was we did not know about the construction when we reserved (it is on the listing now) it was loud. Puts a damper on the vacation quite a bit. One day someone was hammering at 4:30 AM (they're not supposed to work that early). I probably would not have reserved had I known about the construction. The kitchen was pretty nicely outfitted, we even had skillets that didn't stick (wonderful for a VRBO). The bed was pretty comfy, plenty of pillows, but could use more throw blankets - I found one in the bedroom. Lots of towels, typical central/South American shower. Not the pressure we have at home, but nice hot water when needed. All appliances worked. We felt perfectly secure here and absolutely never felt anything different on the peninsula.
