An Apartment with a Changing View & in a Vibrant Area

We had a really lovely time late October in the Nice apartment looking over the Old Port; we were not ready to go home which is always a good sign that you are comfortable in your surroundings. The apartment has a lovely outlook both in day when you look out over the activity in the Port and then the evening when the lights on Castle Hill opposite flicker as the evening breeze rustles the foliage on the hillside.

The apartment is exquisite and in a vibrant area, it is on the top floor of a well maintained block, when the three balcony doors are closed you hear very little outside noise. The living room is very airy and overlooks the Port; the kitchen area takes up very little room but is big enough to cook an interesting meal. The beauty of the apartment over an Hotel is that you can self cater and in the Port area there quite a few excellent shops in the Italian quarter. Personally my favourite shop was "Charcuterie Italienne" on the Rue Bonaparte. Favourite restaurant (yes we did eat out as well) was "La Flara", the elderly gentleman can certainly cook an excellent steak in the pizza oven and I loved the pizza straws with my pastis. The neighbourhood is superb for food shopping, but it would be perhaps difficult to describe as taste is so personal, not everyone goes on holiday to cook but then that is why I sometimes like to self cater, if you admire fresh local produce you just want to move to the next logical step.

We would like to visit the area again and see how the new Metro Tram line (Airport to Port) when it opens in 2018. The work opposite at the moment is fascinating and can only enhance the area in the future.

Resposta do proprietário: I agree that the views from the lounge and balcony are quite special. I feel as though I'm on holiday from the moment I arrive, irrespective of the time of year. The new tram will run directly from the airport to the port (just outside the apartment) from 2018, but in the meantime, I've discovered that getting an Uber cab from the airport is quick and half the price of a standard taxi, so it makes a lot of sense to do that instead of going by bus.

everything we had hoped for

This was everything we had expected and more. The photos are wonderful, but don't do justice to the stunning panorama of the Port, and North to the mountains. We could have spent all our time on the balcony, but coming all the way to South of France, we explored the towns along the Med by bus... so very cheap! We were a bit worried when we saw the upheaval at the quayside to provide for the new tram, fear not there is no noise to be heard! From the minute we were welcomed by the charming Laure, we realised we had arrived somewhere special. Can't wait to visit again, first time using Uber and found them a wonderful slick service to and from airport!

Resposta do proprietário: I have also used 'Uber' for my airport transfer the last two times I visited the apartment. It was extremely efficient and cost about 20 Euros each way and takes about 30 minutes max. While the tram works are in progress (which will be until the end of 2018) I highly recommend using UBER for your airport transfer. It might be a bit more than 20Euros if there are more than two people in the car, but the bus costs 6 Euros each, so for the extra convenience, it really is worth it, and it's quicker too. At the end of 2018, the new East/West tramline will run from the Airport directly to the Port and take half an hour.

Great apartment and location

I visited Nice with a group of 4 friends so we chose an apartment for the number of beds. This apartment was perfect for us and had everything we needed.

We were met by the local agent who made us very welcome and explained everything about the apartment.

The apartment itself was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It was great having the additional en-suite and toilet and the main bathroom was huge which was great especially for a group of girls. It's in a perfect location to get around, has some great places to eat and drink on the doorstep and the views from the balconies were amazing.

The essential information pack contained all the details we needed and the restaurant recommendations were spot on.

We would definitely recommend it and hope to come back again soon.

Great place to stay in Nice

The owner seems to really care about this apartment and his guest's experience. Every detail had been considered. We enjoyed the Port view and all of the amenities of the apartment.

Bright, airy apartment with amazing views

We chose this apartment for its situation and views and it more than exceeded our expectations. The spectacular views across the port to the sea and around the surrounding mountains are so uplifting and we spent many a happy evening, glass in hand, enjoying them. We appreciated the free wifi also.

We were a family group of 4 adults and this apartment perfectly fulfilled our requirements for a week's stay. The spacious, stylish and comfortably furnished kitchen/dining/lounge area is superbly well-equipped, with three large sliding doors opening on to the balcony with those panoramic views.

The bedrooms are compact, but comfortable, with plenty of storage and hanging space. The en-suite is of necessity compact, but is more than compensated for by the huge, luxurious main bathroom which has a powerful shower and seemingly endless hot water.

The owner, Chris Beresford, provides excellent customer servies and sends a comprehensive information pack before you go, including a map of the local neighbourhood with bus stops, supermarkets, restaurants, post office, etc. all marked. The supermarket and boulangerie are less than 5 minutes walk away. The bus stop for the 100 to Menton (for Villefranche, Beaulieu and Monaco) is also just metres from the door. (The bus runs every 15 minutes and costs just 1.5 euros to wherever you want to go) You can also just wander round the headland to the Promenade des Anglais and the long beach of Nice if you want to stay local.

There are so many restaurants on the quayside, surrounding roads and in the Old Town that you never have to go far and are spoilt for choice. We sampled Gousto (Peruvian) and Le Lantane (Pizzeria), both recommended by Chris, and were extremely impressed. Prices in restaurants generally were less than we had expected. If you just want a quick and tasty snack, to take back with you, then the Wok'n'Roll chinese takeaway just around the corner is very convenient.

As my daughter and I had heavy cases we decided to take a taxi from the airport and booked in advance with Allodriver.com. For 40 euros we were met by a charming driver in a gleaming Mercedes, with cold bottled water provided inside, and arrived at the apartment in comfort within 20 minutes. We hadn't booked a return, so instead took a taxi from the port which was very easy and cost 35 Euros.

I unreservedly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a bright and airy apartment in a hard-to-beat location, with stunning views.

Lovely location with stunning views!

A super flat with balconies and stunning views. Well appointed, with everything you need, including a large bathroom and an en-suite. Super comfy loungers in the sitting room. Very clean and excellent customer service. How lovely to have the super choice of restaurants right below you, where you can catch the evening sun! The only negative was that the bedrooms were a little tight for space in the bed areas.

Nice Port está a 5 minutos de caminhada da movimentada cidade velha. É um labirinto de pequenas lojas e restaurantes, todos que vão até à beira-mar onde você pode comer fora e admirar os iates e cruzeiros de luxo.

Grandes obras ocorreu em 2010-11, que criaram um pavimento largura dupla permitindo refeições ao ar livre ao longo de todo o comprimento da estrada.

Uma nova linha de eléctrico, com abertura prevista para 2014 terminará no porto e executar todo o caminho a partir do porto para o aeroporto.
