It sits within the private walled grounds of the Ees Wyke Country House in the conservation village of Near Sawrey, home to Beatrix Potter & Hill Top, a romantic walkers paradise. From the picturesque gardens & cottage you'll enjoy the far reaching views of Esthwaite and the Langdale Pikes. Step inside and you'll find charming accommodation to match the surroundings: large/high rooms flooded with light, tastefully presented in a farmhouse style, warmed by comfy furnishings and all the modern facilities you will want with stunning views of the gardens, lake & mountains from every bedroom. Lake District

Location beautiful and surrounding amenities great. House size good for 4 adults and a dog. Cleanliness of house not to the standard of other VRBO homes I have experienced. Some of the outside furniture not fit for purpose. We struggled with keeping the gas fires on as they gave off a very potent smell.

Beautiful Cottage, Toddler Friendly(ish)

The cottage is lovely, just as the pictures would suggest. It's more overlooked than we had thought, in terms of proximity to other properties. Beds were very comfortable and it was great that the owners were able to provide 2 cots and highchairs for our twins. All in all we had a lovely stay. The location was great, and we did manage to book for dinner at the Tower Bank Arms which was delicious. Being a short drive to Hawkshead and Ambleside was ideal. And a visit to Wray Castle made for a lovely day out. Finding buggy-friendly walks was a challenge, but there are a few to be had as long as the roads are quite as there aren't many you can do avoiding roads entirely. Wray Castle and Grizedale Forest had walks we could all do. For us, with the under 2s, it would have been better to have a contained outdoor space. We weren't able to relax outside as there was no way of stopping the toddlers roaming down the driveway towards the hotel, which was a bit of a shame. And the lack of towels or a bathmat was something that bothered me more than I thought it would when I was booking. If there are two things I'd advise the owners to change, it would be providing towels and more than 2 dishwasher tablets for a family of 6 for a week 😆. We did find our stay very enjoyable and whoever else books this idyllic cottage in such a beautiful part of the country will too.

Excellent cottage in a lovely part of the Lake district

This cottage was excellent and made the perfect base of our week in the Lake District. It was tastefully furnished and well equipped for our stay. The communication from the owners was great and the local pubs and restaurants all provided good food.

A charming peaceful location

A very pleasant and charming cottage, equipped with the necessities tucked away off the road nearby. All you hear most of the day and all night is the sheep in the fields. A beautiful view of the small lake nearby. Many easy walks right from the front door.

Owning a lakeland home has been our dream for many years since our first holiday together and then gettiing married in the lakes. We searched for years before finding Ees Wyke and falling in love - it is our dream home and in such a beautiful village.

For us Ees Wyke has everything we dreamed of and is a wonderful family home for our 3 kids. We all love it, the pace of life and the great local walks.

Its location is perfect -right in the centre of the lakes - close to the picturesque village of Hawkshead and only five miles from Ambleside and Langdale. The cottage is in a great spot with great views over Esthwaite and the Langdales.

We are delighted to be able to share Ees Wyke Cottage with others people until such time as we can live there ourselves.

We just loved it!

It's a beautiful traditional Lakeland cottage in a great location. It has that charming farmhouse feel with some great period features whilst having all the modern facilities we wanted.

The cottage is in a private, beautiful and quiet spot within the most lovely Lakeland village. The cottage garden is a delight with superb lake views. It is the perfect place to relax & get away from it all whilst being close to the tourist attractions & local facilities.

All the bedrooms have great views of Esthwaite and the Langdale Pikes. It has fantastic local walks and a fabulous local pub - the National Trusts' Tower Bank Arms - with good food, real ales and with all that rustic lakeland charm that is so very warm, cosy and friendly.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

We particularly enjoy the quietness and romance of the cottage and its location. The cottage is light and airey with a lot of space for a traditional lakeland cottage. The kitchen/diner is well equipped and a perfect family room - whilst the lounge is spacious but still gets very cosy on those cold evenings. Having 2 bathrooms is a real advantage.

The local walks are exhilerating without having to be too strenuous - the easy to reach picturesque views have to be seen to be believed.

We have already met lots of friends in the village and the Tower Bank Arms still has that truly local feeling to it, as well as catering for people holidaying. With no TV or juke box all you can do is talk and get to know folk - and you do talk!

It is a place to truly relax and get away from it all.
