This is the type of house that encourages you to stay in, with a lovely view of the sea, cool shade and plenty of room to eat and relax, inside or out. We usually do a lot of day trips, but were content with visiting local beaches, the cove below the house and the local town (especially the ice-cream parlour and we went twice to Restaurant Essenza set just behind it). We did take trips to Pescara, Antona and up into the hills in Atessa. The castle at Antona was worth the visit (especially the Trattoria just behind it). Atessa is extraordinary. We went to Bomba too - the water sports centre is closed and makes a spookily deserted place to go and walk, and the view over the lake is stunning. Even with extra-ordinarily stormy weather we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay here again. Helpful owner, clean house, listing accurate.
House accessible only by steep path which has slippery patches when wet. While it has good view f the sea, access to the sea in front of the house is via very steep route which takes some time to get to.
Require a car to both shop and find an accessible beach. Both these points should be made explicit for people selecting a holiday property.
The house presented as run down and poorly cared for. Many things were broken, had pieces missing, didn't function properly, unclean or torn, giving the air of living with another persons unwanted goods.
Cleanliness of the house wasn't great - black hairs evident in the ensuite, toilet not clean, accumulated dust under furniture, stains on the sheets, drawers with dust in them.
The exterior areas of the house present as even more neglected and unattractive. Outdoor furniture left to gather cobwebs and dirt or abandoned, paving gone black or growing moss and uneven.
With many shabby aspects, there were also some goods that were in better condition such as a newish washing machine, chairs for outdoor dining and a now new refrigerator.
Owner pleasant and responsive to requests for information and quick response to replacing the refrigerator that died. Local staff were also pleasant and responsive despite us having no shared language.
While we find it an odd practice not to provide bath and beach towels when bed linen is provided, the owner did agree to provide them for us and we were grateful for this.
As the feeling of living in someone's cast offs persisted throughout the 2 weeks, we wouldn't recommend this property to anyone. The local village provides good fresh food shopping and choice of restaurant.
This is a beautifully decorated roomy villa with gorgeous views of the sea. There is lots of outside space with a terrace that one can eat outside on (again with beautiful views!). A rocky cove is short walk away. The area is wonderfully nontouristy, with mainly vacationing Italians. We had a lovely holiday here. We mainly cooked at home, but there is a nice village close by with good restaurants and a fantastic gelateria. There are a selection of different types of beaches that are a relatively short drive away. Eileen (the owner) was very good with Emails and answering questions. HIghly recommended if you want to feel at home in a very comfortable villa, and discover a charming and less visited part of Italy!
The house is surrounded by trees and located in such a way to enjoy silence and isolation, while being 3 minutes drive from the marina of San Vito Chietino. The large veranda offers a great view of the sea and it is lovely to have lunch and dinner there. Good value for money choice. The area offers plenty of opportunities to go to different beaches (sand, rocks, gravel) and many very good restaurants specialized in seafood are around. It is also possible to head for the mountains that are about 1 hour driving away.
We had a perfect holiday here. The house is beautifully presented and we'll maintained and has the perfect setting with stunning views over the Adriatic which took our breath away every morning. Close by you will find beautiful beaches, one within easy walking distance, supermarkets and a great acquapark a short drive away. Dealing with the owner was an absolute pleasure, Eileen always easy mailed or text'd back ASAP and was very friendly. We are would go out of our way to recommend this house to anyone wanting a relaxing family holiday. Ian Bull
This family villa did not disappoint our expectations. It is a beautiful home, with all the comforts and more for our family of eight. The view of the Adriatic is stunning with spectacular sunrises. The town of San Vito Chietino is quaint and most definitely has the best gelato at Copa Di Dora. A short drive from the villa and my morning espressos started off my days like a local. Just sitting at the cafe watching the morning routines was a joy.
Meals on the villa's terrace added to the serenity of the place. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen provided everything needed for our stay at the home.
As described, a short walk to the cove provided private swimming for our family anytime of day. A short drive away and we had access to several beaches. A drive to upper San Vito is a must as the view from the lookout on top provides some beautiful views of the countryside.
We would definitely come back and recommend the Villa to others looking to enjoy a lovely town with great Italian hospitality.
Only recommendation, trees are growing tall and are beginning to hide the view to the sea, trimming them would definitely enhance the view and make overlooking the Adriatic from the villa that much more breathtaking.
Pescara Aeroporto 40 minutos.
