Family vacation - clean unit, disappointing dock/property
We just wrapped up a great week at Clearwater Beach. We were able to get into the unit about an hour early as our flight arrived earlier in the day. The interior of the unit was very clean and welcoming. It was a short, five minute walk to the beach and the pool was small and private (but cold!).
There were a few small issues inside the condo. The kitchen was sparsely equipped. We needed more glassware and a larger coffee pot and broom. The dining table was in rough shape but manageable. Overall - a great space for two families.
Our main concern was the exterior/property. The two docks were missing planks and there was caution tape blocking it off. This was a disappointment as we packed fishing pole and lifejackets to fish and spend time outside the unit. We ended up putting down a mismatch of boards to try and salvage the one dock for some fishing for the last few days. We had family stay in the same complex the year before and they commented that the exterior property/landscaping has deteriorated.
We reached out to the host. They did credit us $100 for dock situation but insisted it was due to a storm and out of their control. Our family was disappointed with the dock situation- especially because we were not notified about it ahead of time and estimated the work to fix it might have been an hour or so.
Overall - this was a very good spot close to the beach and clean but disappointing outdoor spaces.
