Home away from home!

We have stayed in this fabulous apartment several times but most recently for 4 weeks in September 2016. It is a large 2 bedroom/2 bathroom accommodation which is very bright, comfortable and safe (it is a gated complex and only residences with a key can gain access). The beautiful wrap around balcony gets the sun at various points throughout the entire day. From the balcony there are lovely views onto the swimming pool (which is lit up at night) & very well maintained gardens and in the distance you can see glimpses of the sea.

The kitchen is compact but with all the space and facilities you need for any in-house dining requirements you have and there is the option of eating on the balcony or at the large dining table inside. The living area is spacious and comfortable and the television has a good selection of English speaking channels. There is a strong wi-fi connection throughout the apartment.

We have stayed in many different properties in Alvor over the years but our preference is for Apartment Sofia in Vila da Praia. The location is just perfect. Equidistance from both the village centre and the beach. There is a small supermarket, laundrette, hairdressers, ATM and bars literally across the road. There is no need for a car here - everything is within walking distance and the local bus service is handy and reliable if you want to go further afield to Portimao or Lagos town or explore some of the other beaches.

We highly recommend this apartment. Lena is a lovely woman and it is always a pleasure to deal with her. She is efficient throughout the booking process and is on hand during your stay in case of any questions.

Fantastic location and great apartment.

A large, bright apartment. We wanted for nothing. The location is fantastic, 5 minutes to beach and 5 minutes into town. Lots of cafes, supermarkets and bars within a short stroll. Car really to necessary but great to explore.

We had an issue with the fridge while we were there and within a couple of hours Lena & Gil had it replaced! Lovely people, very helpful. They were just a call away if we needed anything.

We were away with our 7 year old twins who loved the pool. It was quite busy when we were there but we never once struggled for sun beds even if we looked in the afternoon.

The Dunas complex is a couple of minutes away with numerous cafes for a snack. We enjoyed many a toastie at The Chill Out Bar! Delicious.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Vila da Praia and especially Lena & Gils beautiful apartment.

HI-We stayed in your lovely 2 bedroom apartment for a week the service was first class from booking the apartment, my girlfriends father does not walk very well there was a requirement for us to hire a motorised scooter, without the use of the scooter he would not have been able to get about and would probably have spent most of his holiday in the apartment or round the pool. Lena was great for allowing us to use the apartment to keep the scooter at night.The apartment is first class. This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Viila Da Praia complex the last time in another apartment owned by Lena which was a 1 bedroom this was also great.Lena passed on the name of the taxi company and we booked this...great service. Dealings with Lena were great the complex is very central to the beech and the town centre.....we are coming back to Alvor in September to use another of Lena's properties for my sisters 50th birthday celebrations, we would recommend Lena's properties to everyone.This is our 4th time visiting Alvor we never tire of coming, there are still so many restarants that we have not tried yet for great food try Marco's in the Dunas Do Alvor copmlex directly facing the Villa Da Praia, there are numerous other great restuarants in the town a great place to chill out is the square. If anyone has a requirement for a motorised scooter try algarveaccessability contact Andy who delivered the scooter to our complex and arranged collection great service.

We travelled as a party of 5 adults and the booking of this apartment was made simple by the owners Lena & Gil. The communication was very informative. We were met at the airport by Fernando who drove us to the apartment in a very comfortable minibus arranged through Lena & Gil. When we arrived at the apartment they were waiting for us and I had asked Lena if it would be possible to have flowers wine and a cake in the apartment for my mam's birthday which she had done for me even travelling out of the village to get the items. The aprtment was clean spacious and pretty central to the town of Alvor. This is the third time we have visited Alvor and I would not hesitate in recommending this apartment to anyone thinking of going to Alvor. Lena & Gil also have other apartments in Alvor and since our return I have booked to go in October to another of their properties. Alvor is a quaint fishing village very laid back not too noisy with lots of good restaurants and bars. Georgetes was our favourite restaurant but Bouganvila was very good too. If you are looking for a small part of old Portugal there is quite a lot of places to see on the outskirts ie Sagres and its fort and Cap St Vincent the most western point of Europe formerly known as the end of the world before America was discoverd. We hired a minibus with Fernando the driver and he took us to some great places including Cliff Richard's vineyard. A great holiday worth every one of it's five stars and can't wait to return in October.

Lena & Gil are the most perfect host's and nothing is too much trouble if there is anything you want just ask them and I am sure they will do their best to help you.

Wir kommen wieder !

Jeden Morgen Frühstück auf dem sonnigen Balkon, und das fast 5 Wochen lang ! Was kann man mehr von einem Urlaubsdomizil im Nov./Dez. erwarten ? Wer dazu noch weder deutsches Fernsehen noch "wifi" braucht, ist in dieser herrlichen, den Fotos wirklich entsprechenden Wohnung bestens aufgehoben.

Der Strand, der tägliche Einkauf, das kommunale Hallenbad.... alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Wir wollen nächstes Jahr auf jeden Fall wieder bei diesen netten Vermietern buchen, besser kann man eine Unterkunft nicht bewerten...

Our family had a great time at this apartment. Lena and Gil did everything possible to make life easy for us from the initial booking process, through to meeting us at midnight on our arrival at the appartment -their attention to detail made such a difference.

Our two girls (6 and 9) loved their room and indeed the whole of the complex -they tried out both pools this year and made the best of the sunshine! Vila da Praia and the apartment had everything we needed as a family and is very convienent for the beach, restaurants and all amenities.

I would have no hesitation in recommending others to stay here and we will definitely be back if and when we can.
