Christmas Trip
Pros: Beautiful house, great location (definitely need 4wd during winter). Spacious and comfortable house. Kitchen had most everything we needed to cook meals for 8 people.
Cons: Giving it a low rating for cleanliness because a mouse came out in the kitchen to visit us. It ran back behind the stove, we pulled the stove to try and catch it but it had bored a hole in the drywall by the plug. It was very dirty under the stove (we cleaned that all up), but the gross part was that there was mouse poop in the drawer of the stove. We found packing tape and covered the hole with the tape in hopes it would temporarily keep the rodent from coming back during our stay. So we bleach wiped everything, had to wash everything in the kitchen so we could have our Christmas dinner (8 people) cooked in a safe and clean manner. Was very disappointing to find all the mouse droppings due to the fact it can carry very harmful, deadly diseases. Since we had 8 people we had a lot of food so when we saw the mouse we had to cram all the food into cabinets and fridge to keep our food safe. There’s not a lot of space to store all the food for this type of situation.
Another on-going issue was the electric fireplace. There isn’t enough power to keep it turned on and have anything else running on that circuit because it kept tripping the breaker if the outlets were used on the same wall. Even when things weren’t used on the same wall, it still tripped off. So it was rather chilly at times in the house.
