Hi Nate! Just wanted to let you know what a fabulous trip me and my family had staying at 1442 this past week! The Captain Quarters was very clean and had everything we needed! We used the grill and the toys in the garage totally made our trip enjoyable! Bikes, beach chairs, boogie boards, surf boards were a hit for my husband and my 10 year old! Laundry on site was very convenient! We had friends staying elsewhere that stopped by and they were totally impressed! We hope to next year rent 3 units during fall break! Brittany was wonderful! She was very helpful in showing us where to park and showed us around the property! She checked on us a couple of times! She was very personable! We left her a very nice tip because we totally appreciated her wonderful hospitality! Thank you Nate! We will be back and will highly recommend your property!
We stayed in one of the sister units for a week in late June. There were a few minor issues when we first arrived, but Nate was very quick to handle. We didn't realize until arrival that there is no central cooling, only ceiling fans, but with all the windows open, we got a good cross breeze. My only real frustration was the master bed. It squeaked (a lot) and every time one of us moved, it would wake the other. We only slept in it one night, then switched with the kids and we took the murphy bed. The kitchen was well equipped, and the deck has a bbq and patio furniture, of which we took advantage of. The unit itself was plenty big for 2 adults and 2 small children. It was a little loud from the apartment complex next door, but the location was great (pretty much within 30 minutes of everything). It helped to have a dedicated parking space. We didn't take advantage of the toy box unfortunately, as we spent most days visiting theme parks, zoo, etc. I would recommend this listing to families with young children who are on a bit of a budget or young folks who aren't too fussed about luxury accommodations. Overall, I was pretty happy.
My partner & I booked this rental because we are moving to Mission Beach in August & wanted to get a feel for the area before out official move! It was wonderful! First off, we arrived much earlier than our check in time & were greeted warmly by Brittany who was finishing up cleaning our unit. She was extremely friendly & allowed us to put our bags inside right away. She also ended up giving us great recommendations of things to do around town. This definitely added a personal touch to our stay! Like others have mentioned the toy box is what sets this place apart! We were so thankful for the bikes, we rode them everyday, everywhere! It's just breathtaking to ride up & down the coast, and since parking is not always easy to find, the bikes were a great thing to have to go our & grab a bite to eat etc. We also used the beach chairs which were great. The place was clean & very comfortable, the sheets were super soft, I slept great while I was there. The surrounding area is not noisy and we slept with windows open every night. There is also a nice heater in the bathroom for the chillier mornings which we enjoyed. Kitchen is equipped with anything you could need, and the couch is also really comfy for watching movies or taking a nap! Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The owners were responsive to all our emails before the trip.
We really enjoyed staying here. Very roomy for the 3 of us. The people we met on site were very nice and courteous. Everything you need is just blocks away. Loved having a fully furnished place to stay.
The only down side is the couch, it was a little dingy. It could use some TLC or possibly replacing. And parking was, well, it's Pacific Beach, and I was glad to get an assigned space. Overall, we really enjoyed the place, and the location was perfect.
We stayed in the Beach-N-Bay 1 bedroom for 5 weeks and had an excellent experience. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed including adequate dishes/supplies for meals and food storage. The kitchen appliances were quite new and worked well. Wi-Fi/internet and cable were provided. There was also an onsite laundry available to the guests. Access to the unit was with a key code so you didn't have to carry keys with you which we really liked. Our unit was on the second floor and, though we are older travelers, had no trouble with the one flight of stairs. Brittany, who was the on-site problem-solver, was friendly and made sure that when we needed anything or when there were any issues or questions, she responded quickly and made everything about our stay positive. Having her available was a real plus for us. Having the deck and gas grill available was also a plus. We knew that the view from the deck wasn’t going to include the water or any real views, but we enjoyed our evenings there and made friends with some of the other guests staying in another one bedroom next door. The neighborhood has lots of young people, but with the exception of a couple of parties, it was surprisingly quiet. We also felt safe walking the area day or night. The bikes worked well, and the proximity to the water (2 1/2 blocks) and to the restaurants in the area, plus a Sprouts, Trader Joe’s, Vons and a Tuesday afternoon farmer’s market made shopping and dining out easy. You could get anywhere either walking, biking or with public transportation. While we did not need to use our car often, we did have a reserved parking space which was great. The combination of a comfortable place to stay, friendly and helpful service from Brittany, access to the beach, restaurants and groceries and access to public transportation made this a great place to be. If we ever go back to San Diego, we will definitely stay here again.
Pictures can be very deceptive! Three star quality at best. Discovered silverfish (bugs) in several rooms. Definitely would not return. Actual pricing was higher than the VRBO website with fees tacked on. The sofa was quite old and dilapidated. Our backs ached from sitting on it.

WHAT ARE YOUR MINIMUM RENTAL REQUIREMENTS?
Our standard rental period is four nights, however if you are interested in a shorter period contact us directly as we often make exceptions depending on the season and availability. In general we will not accept any rental bookings shorter than four nights prior to 30 days before your requested rental dates. June 23 - August 17 requires Saturday to Saturday (7 night min-stay) bookings.
