My wife and I occupied the two bedroom, second floor apartment from Jan 1-29, 2016. Our very positive experience confirms what others have already written. The location is excellent: a short walk to the beach and a slightly longer walk to the center of the town. If you want a quiet stay away from the crowds Puerto Morelos is an ideal choice, as is Casa Cocodrilos. The apartment is comfortable, well-eqipped and spacious. Two full bathrooms is a distinct plus, especially if you anticipate having visitors. Berenice and Jim (the owners) were most helpful in getting us oriented and attended promptly, at times instantaneously, to minor needs which inevitably arise.
Spent week here with wife and two college age daughters. We want to go back. This place is located within easy walk to everything in town. We didn't rent a car barely had need for taxi the whole time we were there.. Casa Cocodrilos is plenty large with comfortable beds (one queen in one room and two twins in the other).. Sleeping here was perfect with plenty of breeze through the patio doors in each bedroom, no need for AC eventhough the it was in the 80s during the day the whole time we were there. Loved waking rto the sounds of brids and neighborhood. The few blocks to the beach are very short and nothing to walk and it is a similarly short walk to restaurants and the town square. Condo has plenty of kitchen stuff to stay home and cook if you like, though we generally ate out. The little pool was perfect to cool off each night before bed. Berenice and her husband JIm were there while we were there and they were terrific, welcoming and great to chat with. There son Joseph was in town too and was also very nice and gave us some of our best restaurant advice we could ask for. THe town is wonderful and this is a easy and affordable place to have as your home base.
The one bedroom apartment accommodation was an excellent, fully equipped, home base for our one month stay in Puerto Morelos, Mexico. The quaint complex has two additional, two bedroom apartments, surrounding a shared courtyard with access to a crystal clear dipping pool; an excellent feature to escape the sun and beach while relaxing in the afternoon shade. We particularly enjoyed the friendly demeanor of all who were contracted to manage and regulate the upkeep of our accommodation throughout the month. The location being three streets off the beach and several blocks from the main square was excellent in terms of being within minutes of walking to all amenities the town offered: beautiful beach, groceries, plenty of local restaurants, larger small convenience businesses with local goods (frozen seafood market, fresh fish market, tortillas, artisan shops, etc). The owner, Berenice, was always electronically available with immediate response times regarding any inquiries or requests we sought from her. I would highly recommend this accommodation.
This condo was spacious and very clean and included 24 servallience equpipment in a locked enviorment that made you feel safe and secure at all times. The owner Berenice was super accomodating as well as the maintenace fellow Gilles who was very helpful, picking up from the airport and driving us back as well as a move we had to make from one condo to this one. The pool is a dipping pool only but was very refreshing and kept clean by the pool maintenance/gardner a few times per week. We spent 10 Days there and met some very nice people who were staying in the adjoining other two condos. It was about four blocks from town square, along the way many eating and rental areas. Our especially favorite place to stop along our way was Cantina Habineros (2 for margarittas from noon to 4) The food there also really good especially the guacamole. We rented bikes for a couple of days and enjoyed seeing a lot of the back markets away from the square. We had our hair cut for 90 pesos and you could get a manicure and pedicure only one block away. A great quiet location away from the noise if you wanted or a few short blocks to a very lay back town, as described in the ad. There are many things to see and do in PM. The locals are friendly and extremely helpful making your stay much more enjoyable. You are about a 20 minute bus ride from Playa Del Carman as well as Cancun. The collectivo from town to the highway is 5 pesos and you then catch the ADO bus that will connect you with most anywhere in that region or you can also book tours right in town as well as car rentals. We visited some near by island off the coast of Cancun (Isle Marjures & Holbox) that you got to by ferry. Would recommend Isle Marjure. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this condo to anyone. It is only two blocks to the beautiful uncrowded beach that also has many bars and restaurants if you just want to go for a stroll.
This quaint house located on a quiet backstreet just 5 minutes walk from the beach, provided us with a comfortable and safe haven during our month long stay in PM. Divided up into 2 (2 bed/bath) apartments + a 1 bed/bath studio. All very secure and well equipped (except for the BBQ which was burned out) We really enjoyed our stay in the upper apartment with the warm sea breeze blowing over us while we slept. No bother or noise from the always friendly neighbours and the owners if needed were just an e-mail away. Weekly cleaning service was adequate (although we had to change and wash our own sheets and towels) The long walk on the beach every day kept us fit, and a nice cooling dip in the well maintained 'plunge pool' was always great to look forward to after. When not making our own meals in the well equipped kitchen we were able to eat out at one of the numerous restaurants in the town. Visits to the "Colonia" for fresh meat and veg is a must for any long stay visitor to PM, or simply catch the ADO bus to either Playa Del Carmen or Cancun to shop at the larger supermarkets makes for a good day out. All in all a very relaxing stay in a nice house and we will be back. Looking forward to meeting the owners Berenice and Jim next year.
My family and I loved this condo. We were there with our 3 teenaged children and were very comfortable - everyone was able to enjoy their own space. The kitchen is fully stocked with good pots, utensils, etc and full-sized, working appliances. The laundry facilities were easy to use. Berenice was always available by email for questions that came up. The condo is very quiet - we never heard our neighbours unless we passed them outside. It is a perfect distance from the beach and downtown, just a block or two. We never felt unsafe walking in town, and the condo is very secure.
We also loved Puerto Morelos - a nice quiet place for us to enjoy the beach and fantastic snorkelling. The reef is absolutely breathtaking (see Mario and Adrian at the Ojo de Agua building-they are great), or there is lots to see just snorkelling off the beach. We were in PM for two weeks and didn't get a chance to sample all the restaurants.
We would highly recommend the following: The Jungle Spa and Sunday Market (a Mayan women's cooperative), and the roast chicken from Chicken Itza with fresh tortillas from the Tortilla Factory (where else would you get them?!) which are just around the corner from the condo. We never found a bad place to eat actually.
Just what we were looking for... plan to go back next year.
Puerto Morelos é a cidade mais pacífica na Riviera Maya, sua localização é a melhor. Tem o segundo maior recife do mundo que passa em frente de Puerto Morelos muito rasas, tornando-se um lugar muito bom para snorkeling e mergulho.
Puerto Morelos tem apenas três rua tempo porque na parte de trás que é o mangue, cheio de vida, também uma área protegida. Geograficamente, temos a melhor localização na Riviera Maya, que estão localizados 15 minutos a sul do aeroporto, 30 minutos a sul de Cancun e 30 minutos ao norte de Playa del Carmen, estamos envolvente, com todas as atividades, e ruínas maias.
Puerto Morelos é uma vila de pescadores, e em torno de 15:30 você pode comprar peixe (a captura do dia) e lagosta ali mesmo nas docas.
