Lovely space, lots of room, all the amenities. Lots of great things to do near by and just a short drive. Will definitely be returning for multiple visits.
We loved our stay here. The cabin really felt like home as soon as we walked in. It was even decorated for fall which made the experience that much better. This was a three generation vacation and the cabin was perfect for all of us. The master bedroom had a king size bed and still plenty of room for the portable crib. The cabin has everything you could want to have the best possible vacation. Diana, the owner, has thought of everything to make the stay a great one. There are notebooks with brochures and info for the area, and recommendations for restaurants and activities. She was great to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. There was even a gate for the loft stairs so we didn't have to worry about our 18 month old grandchild going up the stairs. Diana really has thought of everything!
We have vacationed in the Ga mountains for the last 25 years, this was our first stay in Blairsville and we loved it. The cabin is close to everything. State Parks, local festivals, shopping, and hiking and ATV trails, ranging from beginner to advanced hikers/bikers. Downtown Blairsville is a great place, full of history and character. The cabin location, Choestoe village, is beautiful and perfect for morning and evening walks to enjoy the fall colors. Our grandaughter loved playing in the leaves!
We cooked out on the BBQ grill on the back porch and had coffee on the front porch. The kitchen is well stocked, right down to the spices, and we loved cooking in it. There is nothing better than starting the day with a big country breakfast or ending it with a family dinner. We spent the evenings relaxing in front of the fireplace!
This will be our new Ga mountain vacation spot for the next 25 years! We are already planning for next year. The only thing we will do differently is stay longer!
This was truly like a home away from home…even grandma’s home. When I say Grandma’s house, I mean that it was a cabin that had everything we needed, and even more. From the sachets in the closets and the extra toothbrushes, to the cabinet full of spices and immaculately clean bbq grill. (Loved the washer/dryer/satellite/popcorn and more). It was a place where I felt at home almost instantly. It was a placed that was loved and it was not only apparent by the appearance of the cabin and its grounds, but by the warm welcome provided by the owners.
They left helpful area information, and a welcome note like you might be given in your guest room at a fine hotel. They knew we had a little one so they personalized our welcome by providing some bubbles for use by our two year old. They even opened their ranch to us to enjoy the view and their horses.
The cabin itself was a place where I knew I could take off my shoes and walk barefooted, where I could bathe in the tub because I knew the tub has been cleaned really well and where the bedspreads and linens have been washed so thoroughly you might lay a baby on them.
The cabin’s location was central to all of the Blairsville area attractions, especially to the state park lake which had lovely swimming and picnic areas and even paddle boat rental. It was also easy to find and not too far from the center of Blairsville, which I might add, had a nice downtown area. We would reference the list of recommended restaurants in the book left for us before venturing out on our own.
I did have two regrets. First, I regret that it wasn’t winter so that we could have sat in front of the gas fireplace with one of the games they provided. And second, I regret that we didn’t stay longer. This was our two year old son’s first get-a-way since he was old enough to understand. He thought we would be going home to sleep the first night and that was his first choice, however, by the last night, he didn’t want to leave. Here we are, nearly six months later and he still talks about Gram and Papa taking us to the cabin.
Thank you so much to Russ and Diane who were the best hosts ever!
Our family enjoyed a weekend get-away at this cabin. The cabin is very clean, roomy, and comfortable. We're glad that we stayed there instead of in a hotel. The owner is extremely helpful and easy to work with. We would recommend this property to anyone who would like to enjoy some time in the beautiful North Georgia mountains.
We were absolutely delighted upon arriving at this property. Not only was the little village just beautiful, the cabin itself is large, spotless and had eveything possible to make your stay very enjoyable, including washer and dryer. Just space to enjoy inside and out and the owner was very nice and professional to work with. We will reserve this cabin again!
Arriving at this cabin was unique, just before arriving you cross over a wooden bridge, which made for a nice attraction on our morning walks. Once we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the entire cabin, including the furnishings. There was not a single thing we needed while we stayed for over a week. The kitchen is stocked with all of the necessary essentials for family style cooking. The interior of the cabin is very cozy, with floor to ceiling solid wood. The gas fireplace was very necessary during our trip, because there was approximately 12 inches of snow during our stay. The location of this cabin was ideal for our day trips to nearby, Blueridge, GA and Highlands, NC. We also were able to visit Brasstown Bald Mt., the various waterfalls, and parks in the area, and conveniently make it back to this centralized location for our young children to take their nap. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay in a clean centralized vacation home, away from home. Also, the owner of the property was very pleasant to deal with, making our entire stay very enjoyable!
