This property is absolutely perfect for a big group or family trip. There are plenty of rooms and the floor plan is so spacious. We never even got to use the extra living room or the pool table or the HUGE outdoor balcony patio. We had 10 people and we didn’t even use all the beds. This property is a MUST!!! It’s so convenient for downtown and the owners are the sweetest. They text and chat with you over the property and are there for any questions about the area. Made great memories. Can’t wait to have another girls weekend !!
Perfect for our group
The owners left a really nice note for our group for the weekend. We needed nothing - everything was provided. There was plenty of room and the set up was perfect for us. The beds were comfy, too. We just wish we had more time to enjoy the property!
Great Accomodations for Large Family or Group
Rented the property for our family of 7 for Thanksgiving and it exceeded our expectations. Very spacious with four bedrooms and extra bunk beds in game room area. Very clean and beautifully decorated to reflect the soul of the city. Convenient to all downtown attractions and the area itself has lots to offer right out the front door. Awesome outdoor roof deck with bar, grill etc. Highly recommend. Owners met us there and made us feel right at home.
Good location, well appointed
This place is BIG. Four bedrooms, two indoor lounging areas,an expansive deck with partial cover and my primary attraction, the pool table gave us all the room we needed several times over. One of the things that always surprises me is layout, something hard to glean from photos. The three front bedrooms and two bathrooms follow a traditional long hall layout. Note the "Master" doesn't have external windows--it appears that at some point the back half of the property was added. That addition has another bedroom, a bath, a somewhat open hallway with two bunk beds opposite a bar space. It also provides access to the deck with space for a party of 50. The floorplan, while a bit quirky, allows for all quests to sit at the dinner table or enjoy the deck, plus creates several somewhat separated areas that allow for smaller sub-gatherings. In short, I find the combo of big common space and several smaller gathering areas perfect for larger groups.
We had never been to Memphis and arrived without any expectations. The city is clearly working on reviving the downtown-Beale Street and this property is within a mile walk of both. So if you are used to cities like New York or San Francisco, it feels a bit weird since the building density remains low, and the walk goes through a light industrial area. It is also on the trolley line so if a mile walk if too much, there is an additional option before driving. A number of friends commented on safety prior to our departure, but we never felt uncomfortable walking around the area, even at night.
But to reach other interesting areas of the city, including Graceland and the delightful Cooper-Young Neighborhood you need a car or Uber.
Although not directly related to the property, Memphis/Beale Street are one of a handful of US cities with concentrated and diverse live music venues. We had a blast sampling honky-tonk, big-band, and traditional blues acts. The early round (5-8PM) did not have cover charges; the 9PM acts had reasonable cover charges.
One thing that made this property stand-out from others I have rented--our hosts were clearly focused on providing a spotless, well-equipped rental. Although we didn't cook a complex dinner, all the things to do so were there.We also did not use the supplied gas grill. Big kudo for high quality towels. Our hosts were responsive and flexible to our arrival because of flight delays.
Bottom line - highly recommended for a larger group.
We enjoyed our trip so much. The place is so spacious and Mike and his wife are amazing. They are so hospitable and I would recommend them to anyone.
The place was about 2 miles from everything you could think of downtown. So you can’t beat that!
