a bit difficult to find, very quiet area. House is big enough for two familys. We enjoyed the "TV room as well es the well equipped Kitchen with nice view. The weather was not suitable to use the garden for more than one breakfast.
We had a great time in Trevergan, despite the winter season. The house is really very well equipped, especially the kitchen, and we lit the log burner every evening - very cosy! The two living rooms were highly appreciated, since you can separate children and adults, which sometimes is useful… The small village is absolutely calm, and you can go for nice walks without taking your car. It is only a short drive if you want to go to the Crozon peninsula and all these wonderful places (Cap de la Chèvre, pointe de l'Espagnol, etc). Unfortunately, we did not meet Jane and Stephen, but they were very helpful and took care of us via the internet…
And they had also left a welcome gift that tasted really good!
This is a beautiful and very large house so there was plenty of room for our family (4 adults and 3 children). There are two sitting-rooms which was great as it meant that the kids could watch TV in one (choosing from a very impressive DVD collection) while we read our books in the other. The house has everything you could possibly need: dishwasher, washing machine, clothes dryer, two bathrooms inside and a lovely sun-trap garden and barbecue behind the house.
It is in a very remote hamlet, so if you're hoping to walk to the nearest bakery to buy your daily baguette, this is not the house for you. If, on the other hand, you're looking for peace and quiet, nice walks along the waterfront, and time to relax, you will find it hard to find a better place. My children made friends with the local farmer who showed them how to milk the cows! They were never bored with their own play space - a mezzanine with shelves stacked full of board games. I would recommend this house very highly. We loved it!
Ty Gwyr is a lovely house, nestled in a sheltered position just above the river Aulne. The house is very clean and well equipped - indeed it is the only rental property that I've ever stayed in that had a choice of sharp kitchen knives! It is an excellent location from which to explore the stunning Crozon Peninsula, and only ten or so minutes from St Nic Pentrez plage (beach). We had a fantastic holiday!
What an absolutely relaxing holiday we had, the rural location away from the commercial cities was just what we needed. Couldn't go out exploring without finding a bueatiful beach and sometimes two. The kids loved the house and shopping each day in the local villages and towns for fresh bread and meat for the barbecue and the lovely local cakes and biscuits.
A car is must for shopping and getting to the beach but walking or jogging to the top of Menez Homs is also a challenge that should be included as a highlight.
We didn't really eat out much as our routine became; a pretty relaxed mid morning breakfast followed by a short drive out to explore in a different direction each day, a few hours on the beach and daily swim in the pristine ocean and then collect some fresh baked food from the local Leclerc or Super U or even the Huit a 8 in Tregunc sur mer, back to the house to freshen up and round the day off with barbecue n cider till dusk, in the garden, disturbed only by a prosession of black and white ladies on their way to the milking sheds, another experience us townies looked forward to everyday.
We all loved it and will definately be returning some time soon. I have been meaning to contact the owner to let them know what a great holiday we had but now you all know.
fantastic, quiet location to gather with friends and/or family for a catch up. lots of beautiful villages to explore within easy drive. perfect for people who want a peaceful holiday.
