I rented this property the first week of Jan. 2014. The condo was clean and was as advertised on the inside. The complex was nice and also as advertised. There is a great view of the Bay, looking out over the tops of other units, but you cannot see the sunset from the balcony. The unit does not face West and there are trees separating the complex from next door. You do get a very nice view from the boat docks. Our biggest issue while there was that the Internet did not work half of the time. We even called the provider and had them come out to look at it. They said it is very slow and we would continue to have problems. Since we needed to keep in touch with work and family members, as well as check flight schedules due to bad weather this was a problem for us. My main issue is the fact that It has been 6 weeks since we rented and we have not received our deposit check back. I have emailed 4 times about this and was told a week ago it would be sent that day. Still no check. Have rented many homes before from this site and always received deposit check back quickly. I would probably be giving the property a 4 if the owner would have responded quicker to this issue.
Moon Bay Yacht & Tennis Club Condo in Key Largo was everything the description portrayed and then some! From the upgraded finishes, to the lovely views from the penthouse, who could ask for anything more? Our vacation started with superb customer service from Rita, the owner, who was amazing nice, before, during and after our stay! The layout of the condo was terrific. We couldn't figure out something with the DVD, and Rita had the maintenance team up in the condo within 20 minutes, to help us out! The kitchen was well stocked with all the pots and pans we needed and even had a blender! We grilled out a couple of nights, and ate out on the screened porch, enjoying cocktails with the amazing sunset view.
When we did go out, we really liked Harriet's Restaurant and Doc's Diner for Breakfast and Snappers (Live Music, Lunch/Dinner- Ocean side) or Bayside Grille for Dinner, right in Key Largo. We also would venture down the road about 15 - 20 minutes to Islamorada, and go to Lorelei's for lunch/dinner- live music with beach seating- super casual at mile marker 81; or for a little fancier- a MUST is the Morada Bay Beach Cafe- at 81.6 mile marker- for the best sunsets and live music EVER! Eat right on the beach at intimate tables by candlelight. Spectacular!
For activities- We went deep sea fishing from Robbie's Marina in Islamorada (mile marker 77.5) and caught so many Dolphin Fish that we could not ship it all home.. we DID ship 200 lbs of filet's home... and that was less than 1/4 of our catch! We had a GREAT day that day! SO much fun! You HAVE to feed the Tarpon there too! That is the best $2 spent around! Lots of fun! Bring a camera and video device!
We also went snorkeling on Morning Start Charters, which is located at 1313 Ocean Bay Drive. An amazing 50+' sailboat takes you to the outer most reef where the best and brightest and largest fish are located! I have been on this boat twice and have not been disappointed. I highly recommend it.
When coming to Key Largo, this condo, the gated community, the grounds, the pool, the docks, the sunsets, the upgraded amenities inside the condo all make this well worth coming back! When vacationing in Key Largo, it will be where I look FIRST!
This was a wonderful condo. Everything was very modern and new. The pool was quiet and relaxing. The view was amazing. We went out on the docks to watch the sunset every night! Moon Bay condo complex was very well maintained. We had a problem the first day with the WiFi but was taken care of the next day and worked great the rest of the trip. Great communication with owner. Very helpful and easy to deal with. Lots to do in the area. John Pennekamp state park is right across from the condo. Kayaking through the mangroves was amazing. Great area restaurants. I would recommend this condo to anyone!
