Villa Maluku caters to the discerning traveler who enjoys a personalized service and privacy during their vacation. This is an ideal retreat for a couple or a small family seeking a peaceful environment away from the dust and noise of Santa Teresa.
Conveniently located only four miles north of town, Playa Hermosa is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Nicoya Peninsula with unforgettable sunsets. Come and experience where the jungle meets the sea and tropical beauty abounds.
The house is situated in a highly sought after area, a mere three minutes by car to the beach, nestled in the hills overlooking the jungle and ocean of Playa Hermosa.

The house was completed in 2015 with all modern amenities and decorated with imported Balinese furniture and artifacts from around the world.
The ocean facing balcony, raised on stilts, offers amazing jungle views through to the sea below. From here you can enjoy your morning coffee or practice some yoga listening to the sounds of the jungle and the waves rolling in. There are many different birds and monkeys spotted from here.
The open plan living design and high beamed ceilings throughout allows for plenty of space and comfort during your stay. The kitchen is fully equipped for every need including large fridge/freezer, microwave, oven/grill and four hobs, coffee machine, toaster, kettle and blender. The bedroom has a large built in closet with A/C and ceiling fan.
Feel secure with a gated entrance, safe, alarm system and one other house on site where the property owners live permanently. We value our clients privacy but are always nearby to help with local recommendations and ensure that your stay is a memorable one.

There are many activities to enjoy in the local area from surfing, kayaking, yoga, fishing, stand up paddle boarding, swimming, horse riding, nature walks, bird watching, golf, Tortuga island day trips, Montezuma waterfalls and Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve.
The restaurants in and around Santa Teresa offer international cuisine at a very high standard.

Schönes kleines Ferienhaus am Berg

Das Haus liegt am Ende von Santa Teresa auf einem Berg. Insgesamt sind 3 Häuser auf dem Anwesen. Unseres war mit einem Schlafzimmer das kleinste. Das Haus war sehr gut ausgestattet. Einziger Nachteil, man braucht immer ein Auto zum Strand oder zum einkaufen. Da die Straße in Santa Teresa sehr sehr schlecht ist, kann das schon mal dauern. Ansonsten aber sehr schön.

Awesome!

My husband and I stayed here for 8 days during the beginning of May and had an amazing time. Scarlett and Lincoln are both super nice people who are very accommodating. The property overlooks Playa Hermosa and is a short 10 minute drive to Santa Teresa. The roads are very rough everywhere on the Nicoya Peninsula so it is important to get a 4x4 vehicle. Playa Hermosa itself is stunning, I mean stunning, and not crowded at all in May. Santa Teresa is a little surf town that is charming and has super awesome restaurants. All in all we loved everything and would love to come back!

Natural Zen

My husband and I spent 14 days (February 13-27) at Villa Maluku--excellent--useful kitchen, nice living area, full size bedroom with one king bed, ceiling fans, a/c as needed, and laundry facilities (house larger than it appears in the photo). We initially questioned being high on the hill rather than close to the beach...we made the right decision for the breezes, view, quiet, and to avoid the dust due to the dry season (if you're going to rent quads bring eye-wear and bandanas to cover your face). Lincoln and Scarlett are most accommodating and helpful with information about restaurants (multiple enjoyable spots--invariably good service; try Cariscolas for the waves and rocks sunset, the best civiche (tropical) in the western hemisphere, and the sauce on the camarones cariscolas is terrific), banking (couple downtown ATMs), activities in the Santa Teresa/Mal Pais vicinity. Howler and white faced monkeys passed through the trees next to the house; we encountered them as well at beach side cafes. Beach walking, snorkeling in tide pools, sitting on the porch reading. Wonderful funky, low key vibe to the entire area--people riding motorcycles and quads, surfboards underarm with dogs in crates on the rear end, no monster hotels, no hustles or hassles, friendly store service. You will want a 4-wheel drive vehicle; the house is on a hilltop, and my husband and I competed over which hillocks could be navigated in second gear and those that required first. (automatics are available in San Jose.) We can't overstate how much we enjoyed the entire stay. We have vacationed in Costa Rica ten times over the past twenty years and while all areas are beautiful and different, this is now our favorite place. Pura Vida

Beautiful property in paradise!

The house was amazing and Scarlett was a wonderful host. The view from the house was beautiful, and it was a perfect spot for our trip to Costa Rica. We were close driving distance to Santa Teresa and Playa Hermosa. The house was very clean and comfortable. I cannot wait to go back!

After one year we have successfully completed a one bedroom house and a two bedroom house within a private nine acre piece of land.
