Both this home and its location are the embodiment of an "easy peasy" value-priced Tuscan vacation. Set in a quiet neighborhood on the outskirts of Palaia, a quaint village with Etruscan origins overlooking the green Valdera area South West of Pisa. The village centre is just one mile away (15 minutes walk or less than 5 minutes drive) with at least three good restaurants, a grocer and a bar serving an excellent cappuccino. The unparalleled attribute of this location is uncomplicated access to some of major attractions of Tuscany: Pisa, Lucca, the Tuscan coast and the Cinque Terre are a breeze from this welcoming home.
Interiors are spacious and bright with air conditioned bedrooms and fast internet Wifi. The house is well appointed even for a long stay.
For a larger group, the neighboring Villa Montevizzano with pool can be rented together for a total of 10 guests.
Driving around this area, known as the Valdera is sheer pleasure. The gently rolling hills on the way to San Gimignano and cliffs to Volterra provide the perfect setting for many photos.
Villa Belvedere Montevizzano has well tended grounds, a panoramic covered outdoor dining area with a built in barbecue that provide the perfect setting for outdoor dining under the stars. Two bedrooms have access to a balcony that enjoy extensive views over a verdant countryside as far as the Apuan Alps.
The land surrounding the property is cultivated with olive and fruit trees providing delicious cherries that are found on sale at the end of May on the stalls of many shops and local markets in the area. La Valdera in Tuscany is a place bursting with flavour and culinary tradition: from the esteemed world-famous truffle to the cured meats, wine, extra virgin olive oil to the liquor and much more!
By car, the entrance to the Firenze-Pisa-Livorno freeway in Pontedera is reached in 20 minutes. The wide sandy beaches, sea promenade in Viareggio or the vip resort of Forte dei Marmi, together with the walled city of Lucca are reached in 50 minutes: Pisa's leaning tower, San Miniato or San Gimignano and Volterra: 30; Florence parking area Villa Costanza: less than 1 hour; the Cinque Terre: less than 2 hours; Lesser known but must-see villages in the area: Peccioli, Casciana Terme, Lajatico just to name a few, are within 20 minutes drive.
