The apartment is exceptionally beautiful, cozy, clean, well maintained, and well located -- a heaven of quietness on the 6th floor of a classy building with a paved interior court. This is a prestigious part of Paris. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and food and other stores 100 meters away. Getting to the Louvre museum and metro station is a 5 minutes walk. Rue du Bouloi is small and very quiet. Anyway you cannot hear street noise as the apartment faces the court. The apartment is very spacious by Parisian standards and includes a large den upstairs. All the furnishings, appliances, and electronics are of highest quality, including a great flat-screen TV and high-rate internet. We definitely recommend the apartment and would happily return.
My husband and I stayed at this apartment with our teenage niece for about a week. She loved staying in the loft and we were slightly envious because it was SO charming. The apartment is thoughtfully and tastefully decorated, with little design touches everywhere, from the dishes and cushions to the art on the walls. The 3 of us had plenty of space to spread out and find peace and quiet when needed, but the living/dining areas were cozy and comfortable for our evenings together. We had breakfast and dinner in the apartment most days, and all cooking and dining supplies we needed were provided in the open kitchen, with a big refrigerator and freezer and even an ice tray. Large windows in every room provide beautiful light and good air circulation, which kept the temperature comfortable at all times (though there is a convenient portable fan for warmer days). It was spotless and well-stocked with soap, toilet paper, and paper towels, as well as detergent for the washing machine and dishwasher. Fast, reliable wi-fi and a wonderful library of books, CDs, and movies. There is a notebook with restaurant recommendations, emergency info, and instructions for all the appliances.
The very central location was perfect for walking to the majority of tourist sites, yet it felt very safe and quiet. There were several bakers and grocers conveniently located within short walking distance. Agathe is a charming and conscientious hostess, and super-quick to reply to all our emails and answer any questions. We have already recommended her apartment to friends and family, and hope to stay again ourselves during future trips.
So many positives, where do I begin? An excellent location right in the beating heart of Paris allowed us ready access to many wonderful attractions. The apartment was all we could have wanted, comfortable, spacious and well equipped with all one could need for a great experience in a beautiful city. Our host Agathe was gracious, helpful and a good communicator. We had a fabulous time and would definitely recommend this home. Thanks for sharing your home with us Agathe. We wish you all good things.
We absolutely loved our stay in Agathe's apartment! Location is great: it is a 5-minute walk from the Louvre and Tuileries in one direction and 5 minutes from Rue Montorgueil (food-lover paradise with countless food shops, boulangeries, wine shops and cafes) in another direction. And the great kitchen stores near Les Halles are also at your doorstep. It is very easy to get to from the airport as the train arrives at the Les Halles station from where it is a 5-minute walk. For everyday goings around the city, there is also the smaller and easier to use Palais-Royal metro station close by. We especially enjoyed the proximity to Palais Royal garden: it is great to stroll through the Palais Royal court on the way home from the metro. Also, do not miss the Sunday morning food market on Rue Montmartre.
The apartment is very comfortable for a family of four: an adults' bedroom and two separate twin beds for kids, in different rooms, which is nice. The place is very spacious, cozy and clean. It has everything you might need for your stay plus old-world charm and a view over Paris' rooftops from all the windows. Located in a courtyard, the apartment is very quiet—you don't get any of the city's noise. And a nice bonus: you can see the Eiffel Tower's beam at night in the rooftop windows. I wholeheartedly recommend this apartment and hope to have an opportunity to come back in the future! Thank you, Agathe!
The apartment was wonderful for 2 adults and 2 teenage girls to have a remarkable 8 days stay in La Ville Lumiere over Christmas/New Year period. It was a cosy comfortable and happy place to return to after a busy day, perfect fit for us - charming quirky functional and neat!
Agathe was pleasure to deal with. Pre-arrival communication with her was very effective. On all occasions I got prompt and helpful respond. The apartment was easy to get to from the Gare du Nord by RER Line B (1 stop to Châtelet-Les Halles). The Châtelet-Les Halles station is a huge underground maze and can be overwhelming but we followed the signs for the exit (sortie) to Louvre. On our arrival Agathe made sure we were set up for a week and arranged our check out. There was a guide folder with all info we needed for our stay.
The layout was perfect for our family. Girls enjoyed their special fanciful space upstairs on the mezzanine level and adults had downstairs. Everything was clean and worked. The kitchen was very well organized with everything we needed for cooking. We ate out most of the time but loved to shop at fruit/veg stalls, boucheries and patisseries on the rue Montorgueil and cook at home. Rue Montorgueil is not to be missed!
Rue du Bouloi was the best location we ever had in Paris and we come to Paris a lot. It is very quiet but less than 5 minutes’ walk takes you to the hustle and bustle of the Forum des Halles, a modern underground shopping mall which directly connected to the massive RER and metro hub of Châtelet-Les-Halles. There are plenty of restaurants within a few blocks. Just about everything is walking distance: Le Louvre and Palais Royal - 5 min, Opera and les Grands Magasins (Printemps and Galeries Lafayette) - 10-15 min, the heart of Le Marais – 15 min, Musée d'Orsay - 20 min, Notre Dame 25 min, Champs-Élysées - 30 min, Montmartre and Sacre-Coeur - 35 min, Eifell Tower – 50 min, L'Arc de Triomphe – 50 min walk. Girls went to the Disneyland for a day (35 min direct journey by RER A from the Chatelet-Les-Halles) and adults got off a few stops before them at Noisiel to visit Château de Champs-sur-Marne (included in the Paris Museum Pass). I enjoy it more than our visit to the Versailles the day before.
Merci beaucoup to Agathe for sharing her delightful bit of Parisian heaven with us. It felt like home! Excellent stay - much better than staying in a hotel. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. We loved it!!!!.
My wife and I spent 2 months looking for the perfect place in Paris balancing budget, location and space. After selecting Agathe's apartment and spending the week there, there is no question we made an excellent choice. Not only was it reasonably priced, centrally located and roomy BUT it was also as comfortable as being at home. I do not know if Agathe lives there part of the year but it feels like it. It was like spending time in a friends place . And Agathe herself is a delight to deal with. Her communication and follow up were excellent BUT as important you truly understand she wants you to be happy and comfortable. I'm sure there are lots of nice places in Paris but I can not imagine there being a better one.
