Stunning, newly renovated two-bedroomed cottage with amazing panoramic views of Stirling Castle, National Wallace Monument & the Ochil hills situated on a working arable & pedigree beef farm, on the edge of the historic city of Stirling.
The cottage is furnished & equipped to the highest standard allowing you to relax & enjoy your surroundings & holiday to the fullest. All bedding, towels, electricity, central heating, sample toiletries, a small supply of domestic goods (toilet rolls, dishwasher powder, washing-up liquid etc.) & unlimited Wi-Fi are included in the price. In winter a starter pack of wood is available for the wood-burning stove. A fresh flower arrangement & a small complimentary basket will be awaiting you on arrival along with tea/coffee & a selection of home made baking.
For the young ones a guided tour of our farm is available on request, where children can visit our prize winning herd of pedigree Limousin cattle herd & see the day to day running of a working farm, however they must be supervised at all times by an adult.
This wee cottage is remarkably light, airy and spacious and has astounding views of the Ochil Hills, Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument and Cambuskenneth Abbey.
It is perfect for those who seek a combination of convenience (supermarket and amenities just 5 minutes away as are the main motorways to the rest of Scotland, making it a perfect location to explore...) and seclusion (the cottage stands alone surrounded by fields and farmsteads).
Heated floors and a log fire keep it cosy in winter and triple patio doors leading onto a stone patio and the garden will be perfect for the Scottish summer.
The owners have put a lot of thought into ensuring that the cottage is perfectly set up for guests and are close by, ready and willing to be of assistance ...

From Edinburgh take the M9 signposted for Stirling, exit motorway at junction 9.
From Glasgow take the M80 signposted for stirling, exit motorway at junction 9.
Then from both directions take A91 signposted St Andrews, keep on the A91 through 4 roundabouts, at the 5th roundabout take the 4th exit signposted Upper and Lower Taylorton, Bolfornought. Mallard cottage is about 1.2km up the farm road on the left hand side.
Our location is perfect for walkers, shoppers, birdwatchers, golfers, historians & families of all ages. It provides a convenient base from which you can explore the surrounding area such as the Blairdrummond Safari Park (www.blairdrummond.com), local farm shops (www.blairmains.com) & the many historic buildings of Stirling(visitstirling.org). In addition it is ideally located to enable you to go on day trips to Loch Lomond, the Trossachs (Scotland’s first National Park), Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth & St Andrews either by car or train from the local train station (approx. 2 miles away). The property is also perfectly suited for the active holidaymaker with excellent sporting facilities at the Peak sports village (www.the-peak-stirling.org.uk) featuring an indoor swimming pool & ice rink, and the National Tennis Centre at Stirling University, all within a few miles of the cottage. For golf fans the Ryder cup 2014 (www.rydercup2014.com) venue at Gleneagles is only 35km away, with direct park and ride facilities available from Stirling (one of the few pick up points).
