Beautiful House! Great Location!

We really loved this house. It was very well furnished and equipped and the large bedrooms comfortably accommodated two couples.

We all enjoyed the long evenings spent in the peace and quiet of the beautiful garden.

The location was excellent: close to Quimper, fishing ports and sandy beaches.

Patricia, our host, was quick to respond to emails during the booking process. She offered a warm welcome and provided well organised tourist information. She very obligingly ensured that a forgotten item was returned to us by mail. Thank you, Patricia. One week was not enough. Maureen.

A Cautionary Tale

Lovely house, lovely part of France with access to stunning beaches (House 4/5 stars)

The house is on a smallholding shared by 2-3 other houses. The site is visited regularly by the owners as a result and impacts on privacy. The garden is also informally shared with the other residents. Neighbours played loud music on some nights which impacted on sleep.

We found the owner to be rather obsessional and overbearing. Whilst on site, she rummaged through the recycling bin and confronted us whilst relaxing in the garden with a misplaced glass bottle which we felt was unnecessarily confrontational.

The main warning here is that the owner asks for a large security deposit in cash. This is contrary to the advice given by HomeAway and means that you are not covered by the security deposit guarantee or the protection offered through the book with confidence scheme.

On checkout the house was meticulously searched by the owner, who appeared incredulous that we hadn't caused any damage.

The owner became dysregulated and accused us of damaging the bathroom floor with intentional water damage. She was unnecessarily accusatory, hostile and rather unpleasant. This was completely unprofessional and unacceptable behaviour in our opinion.

The result was that she retained a significant amount of the decruity deposit for a water stain on the ceiling which we suspect predated our stay. She wanted the entire security deposit amount There was no evidence that we had caused the damage and we are adamant that we treated the property with respect and couldn't conceive of how we were responsible.

HomeAway were unable to help beyond an offer to mediate between us and the owner, but we are left with the impression that there is no room for negotiation with the owner.

Also be aware that the owner will charge for electricity and the cleaning fee is charged despite any efforts to leave the property as found (atypical in our experience but as advertised) .

I suspect, through extrapolating from our experience, that the owner will not tolerate any aspect of wear and tear to the property through normal use and as a renter you are likely to become liable if you are unfortunate enough to have anything fail during your stay.

We would recommend looking for another house/owner to explore this beautiful part of France.

We strongly advise you to read the comments of our other guests or our following response to this english couple to make your own opinion on this long, extravagant report of "A Cautionary Tale", slanderous and defamatory, written by Dr. Peter JEFFERY, disrespectful of the rules of good French conduct and of selective sorting.### The woody and flower garden that is exclusively reserved for you, is 3000 m2 on a private property of 8000 m2. Our second accommodation, which is in the back of the first accommodation, also has a garden of 1000 m2. So the serenity and privacy of the families of each of our 2 accommodations are preserved and the parking of your vehicles is facilitated .### The conditions of our rentals are clearly stated in the online description: beds made on arrival, deposit of 200 €, electricity package, visitor's tax, final cleaning option...The main informations are taken by the Homeaway group into perfect your booking online. The same applies to our booking contracts. A sheet written on your arrival contains these main information.### This english couple did not have an insurance contract to repair his water damage. The retention on the deposit, after deduction of the other costs inherent to his rental, amounted to 100 €, much lower than the real cost to repair the bathroom.### We hope to have reassured you on the high quality of our accommodations, our friendliness and our conditions of reception. Super schönes Haus!!! Das alles hält, was es verspricht!!!

Nachdem der Sommerurlaub dieses Jahr praktisch nicht statt gefunden hat, wollten meine Frau und ich im Herbst noch einmal abschalten und der Alltagshektik entfliehen. Kurzentschlossen haben wir uns für die Bretagne und dieses Haus entschieden. Damit haben wir einen 100% tigen Treffer gelandet.

Das Haus ist super schön hergerichtet und alle Fotos entsprechen dem Ist Zustand. Mit sehr viel Liebe und Geschick haben die Vermieter hier ein Juwel geschaffen. Der riesge Garten verspricht Ruhe und Natur zu jeder Jahreszeit.

Die Entfernung zum Strand (ca. 3km) ist mit dem Auto überhaupt kein Problem, und wer es sportlicher mag kann auf gute, zum Haus gehörende, Fahrräder zurück greifen. Für Tagestouren gibt es in der Umgebung viel zu erkunden. Bei der Zielauswahl und Vorschlägen ist Patricia le Leannec gerne behilflich.

Bleibt nur noch der Familie le Leannec noch einmal ein großes Lob und Dank auszusprechen. Sie sind immer da wenn man sie braucht, und ansonsten nur ein Schatten im Hintergrund.

Es hat uns sehr gefallen und wir kommen gerne wieder.

Très agréable séjour
