Polopos is ideally placed to enjoy a peaceful rural holiday, away from possible crowds on the coast, yet just twenty minutes drive down to the beach . This small house is simply full of character, in a typical Andalucian white village situated in the mountains ,10km from the coast and at an altitude of 700metres. The house has been modernised yet retains many original features with its low ceilings, original beams, grape treading floor and walls almost a metre wide. The spacious south facing terrace has spectacular mountain and sea views. The house is open plan with living/dining area, kitchen area, bedroom area (with double bed) and bathroom (ie shower and toilet) The sofá in the living room can convert to a double bed.
Polopos is an agricultural village with welcoming inhabitants. There are no shops here but the bread van passes by daily, the fish van once or twice a week and a fruit and vegetable van parks up for a couple of hours on both Wednesday and Saturday. When you go to the local bar, your drink will be served with tapas (for free) If you want a larger plate you can ask for ‘raciones’ . In the plaza, the recently opened Cantina Verde, specialises in vegetarian or vegan food, though usually there a fish or meat option too.
Several kilos of local almonds await you in the house! Almonds, figs and grapes are harvested in late summer, avocados in December. The almonds trees blossom in January and February.
Please note, the bedroom area is small, measuring just under 8 square metres; it has a double bed. In the living room area there is a sofabed which opens to a double bed
The house is simply, but adequately, furnished (there is no washing machine but a neighbour can provide a laundry service if you wish)
