The "boulanger" (baker) comes by every day to deliver fresh bread. Just listen to the honk-honk and run outside to stop her.
Rhumeries are also near by (15-20 minutes for the closest) and will offer you free rum tasting from their AOC (origin controlled) agricultural rum made from raw sugar canne. Most of them offer visits of the distilleries, so check out for their schedule.
