Surrounded by fields with grazing horses, the property is approached by a tree-lined gravel driveway with ample parking.

Attention to detail and custom built character pieces are featured in this property such as wood ceiling beams & custom hand made stairs & furniture. Many other furniture pieces were also shipped from the U.S.

Just 30 minutes drive from Dublin's main airport - 30 minutes from Dublin City - 30 minutes from a number of beautiful beaches and mountain areas - it has all conveniences and local towns nearby.

Ideal for a family to use as a base for touring other parts of Ireland - it is ideally situated just a few miles from all the major motorways leading to all four corners of Ireland within approx. 2 hours drive away.

Also ideal for groups who want to spend time golfing - it offers many superb golf courses within 10 miles, catering for all levels of golf. The renowned K Club which hosted the Ryder Cup in 2006 is just 6 miles away. Carton House with it's Championship & in-land Link courses is just 8 miles away, and many more to choose.

Fado House sleeps 8 adults comfortably. It comprises 4 large double bedrooms with spacious en-suite bathrooms - 3 large reception rooms - large sunroom with fireplace for year round use - fully furnished and equipped gourmet kitchen with cosy AGA stove cooker - gas hob - microwave - electric oven - fridge/freezer - washer and dryer.

Also included for cooler weather are slate floors with under floor heating - radiator heating in each room and cast iron fire burners in the sun room and living room.

There is a small library stocked with books for your enjoyment to cater for a variety of interests such as sports, biographies, history, cooking, murder mysteries and novels.

There is a stone patio at the back of the property which captures the sun at all times of the day - and includes decorative white iron chairs & tables to enjoy the view.

Renter Be Ware

I was not impressed with this stay. Everything seemed fine and lovely up until the time we went to check in. To find the property, you must meet or be directed from the local bar. It does not come up on any maps. Wifi was spotty and went in and out throughout our stay. When it did work, it only worked in one room of the house, downstairs. Hot water is ran on a limited schedule of 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening, so if you're not ready to take your shower by 9:00 am (Ireland time), be prepared to take a cold shower or wait until 6:00 pm Ireland time, but make sure to get it in before 8:00 pm Ireland time. The homeowner controls the water schedule off-site. Due to the length of our stay, a mid-stay cleaning was included with the price of the rental. We didn't use this cleaning, not because we were unaware, but because we didn't want to be a bother. When we left, I took the liberty and extra effort to wash the bedding for the master bedroom, one of the other bedrooms, as well as 2 loads of towels. The property owner actually had the audacity to pull a deduction from my damage deposit for cleaning because she said we left the house excessively messy, which was completely untrue and there's no pictures to back it up. As a property owner that lists her home for rent through vacation rental sites, if there's any kind of damage, I am absolutely going to take pictures to back it up and never, in a million years, would I even dream of deducting extra fees from a damage deposit when there are no damages. Damage deposits are for damage, not because the homeowner wishes to deduct additional fees for erroneous reasons.

Irish Family living abroad, we built Fado House from scratch with the intention of moving back to Ireland. No costs were spared or detail missed during the construction. We plan to move back to Ireland and live there so it will not always be available for rent. In the meantime, we are inviting others to share our home and enjoy.

Talented and experienced craftsmen who hand-built many pieces of furniture with bog oak wood, carbon dated at over 5,000 years old and priceless in their own right.

It's upkeep, maintenance and focus on detail to make your stay a memorable and relaxing life event. It's cosy features are made to ensure your stay is warm and inviting.

Open Fireplaces with multi fuel cast iron stoves, slate floors in kitchen & sunroom with underfloor heating, carpet upstairs and living room, bog oak furniture, large AGA cooker with 4 ovens for variable heat settings - wood ceiling beams made from reclaimed beams and stairway built from reclaimed wood taken from an old cathedral. Additional central heating throughout. Patio area has decorative iron seating and chairs and has 2 chiminea's for burning wood and sitting outside at night. WiFi services included.
