Possibly my favorite holiday ever
First things first, this property is lovely. Le Manoir itself has been beautifully renovated and restored by brothers Simon and Nicholas. The house itself is spacious, decorated well and set up for large groups. A mix of old and new adds to it's charm and I would say for our large group of 12 it worked very well. The brothers are detail orientated and have made it their priority to see that everything is functional, easy to use and well thought out. From two sets of cutlery and dishes to every kitchen appliance imaginable, it all made for a seamless and easy stay. We were also encouraged to suggest anything that wasn't provided for, but honestly we couldn't think of a thing. The grounds are beautiful and well looked after. Plenty of space to play badminton, croquet or football. There is a sweet little vegetable and herb garden that we were welcomed to pick from (and did). We were a family of all ages (a baby to grandparents) and, the property catered well to everyone. The pool area was fantastic. A lovely sized salt water pool , and a covered well-supplied outdoor kitchen, dining table, fireplace and seating area. Again, every detail had been worked out and we thoroughly enjoyed the majority of our evening meals here. Additionally for the two rainy days, we all enjoyed the games room which featured a big screen TV, table tennis and foosball. The surrounding area is lovely. Le Manoir sits at the top of a sweet village with a short two minute walk to the little village shop. We made it a point to wander down and pick up croissant, pain au chocolate and baguettes every morning (delicious). The shop was well stocked with things we occasionally ran out of and was convenient if we didn't want to head to the bigger supermarket 15 minutes up the road. This part of Dordogne is very pretty. Winding little roads that take a while to get you places, beautiful scenery and practically no one else around. This all contributed to a sense that in this part of the world at least, life is a little simpler and a little slower. We divided our two-week stay between relaxing at the property, spending time with family and visiting some local caves, lovely little villages and markets in the area. There is plenty to do. And if you like the idea of being in the heart of the French countryside with very few other tourists, this will suit you well. All in all, I would highly recommend this property. We created many wonderful memories here.

Absolutely fabulous two week stay!
We had originally booked in 2020 and had to cancel for obvious reasons but rebooked for this year and crossed our fingers that we wouldn't have to cancel for a second time.! Fortunately, we lucked out! The hosts of this property live next door, and are quick to respond, very friendly and accomadating! The property itself has been completely renovated inside, so the pictures are accurate. We had four main criteria for any property, 1) All bedrooms had their own baths, 2) New or Newer kitchen, 3) A pool, 4) Wifi throughout. This property met all that and definitely exceeded our expectations. The only minor letdown was inconsistent wifi, but we could have easily asked our hosts to reset it when it went out, we didn't because we really needed to disconnect anyway, but I hear they're getting fiber next year(!!), so that makes this property really a stand out. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious, the outside pool area is over the top (With a HUGE pool), we will defiantly be returning! Thanks so much for a fabulous and much-needed vacation!

Retired Commander Royal Navy now living in France with brother Nicholas (Chartered Surveyor) and breathing life back into a small French Chateaux.
Love wine, the French way of life, the countryside and dogs.
Every effort has been made to preserve the character of the property as a family home providing ample space to relax and totally unwind.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

We were very particular in what we wanted to provide: a spacious traditional French family home designed to relax in plus all the features that we would want to find when on holiday. It was also important that the property was within a genuine French community and within easy reach of the myriad of touristic sites for which the region is famed. We also wanted to be on hand for our guests but far enough away so not to intrude. After a challenging search we found Le Manoir.
Le Manoir is a beautiful 19th century family home situated within a small village in the heart of the Perigord Vert.
Over the last two years we have undertaken an extensive yet sympathetic restoration using traditional methods, materials and local craftsmen. Being on site throughout has enabled us to oversee every detail and ensure the original features and atmosphere of the house have been retained. The house now provides six generous en-suite bedrooms, numerous reception rooms, a roof terrace and also a few tranquil corners for getting away from it all. The rooms are generally furnished with period French furniture and fittings that are both elegant and robust enough to handle family life. The carpets and curtains have been chosen to match the age and character of the house. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a separate laundry room. To maintain its atmosphere, we limit the number of guests to twelve plus the odd baby or two.
Externally there is a large heated pool. The old farm buildings have been converted to provide a spectacular stone pool house complete with large sitting/dining area, summer kitchen and even an open fire. The grounds are mainly laid to grass with large lime trees providing shade and adventure.
Both the house and pool face south and take full advantage of the sun throughout the year. The large ground floor windows fill the house with light and the thick stone walls help maintain it as a cool refuge during the hottest days of summer.
