This large vacation house is situated at the edge of the El Yunque National Rainforest on 6+ acres of tropical rainforest jungle. Private gated access, on a small mountain just 1 mile from PR3. Large private patio and 10x20' salt water swimming pool constructed on the mountainside. THE POOL IS ONLY FOR GUESTS OF RENTAL HOUSE. NOT SHARED WITH ANYONE ELSE.

This is not a cramped condo or apartment with many neighbors. You will be in a safe mountainside tropical jungle setting, in a large concrete house, with plenty of room to explore and enjoy!

The property is close to El Yunque National Forest, Luquillo (Monserrate) Beach and kiosks, Carabali Rainforest Park, Hacienda Siesta Allegre, and just 20 expressway miles from San Juan. The ferry terminal to Culebra & Vieques is 23 miles.

Bedrooms: NO BUNK BEDS!
King bed in master suite with walk-in closet and separate bathroom with large shower. The second bedroom offers a comfortable queen, a futon, and twin mattress for a variety of sleeping options. A queen bed is in the third bedroom. Second Bathroom is at end of hallway, near bedrooms 2 and 3.
Two Pack N Plays are available for traveling babies, along with a kiddie pool, and high chair.
The couch in living room contains a queen bed.
Linens, pillows, and towels (including beach towels) are provided.

The house has accommodated many gatherings with friends and family sharing in the food preparation in the open kitchen with large island, with many guests gravitating to the large patio, or the open two stall garage in rainy weather.

Open floor plan and spacious rooms are located on one level, making it easy for elderly or toddlers to get around. No steps! Pool just off the patio has an iron security gate.

If you want to stay where you have all the amenities of home yet are near many attractions the island has to offer, please consider reserving this home for your next vacation!

Ceiling fans and air conditioners in each bedroom and living room.

Full solar system ensures you won't have any power blackouts during your vacation!

1,000 gallon water reservoir makes sure you will have a shower when you need it, regardless of the inconsistent utilities that occur frequently on the island. And yes, a hot shower!

Roku smart tvs in each bedroom, dvd player, assortment of movies, and wi-fi throughout.

We want your vacation to be a wonderful time and can help with anything you need before or during your stay. Hosts reside in separate 2nd floor unit with separate parking and entrance. Hosts do not monitor guests. With 8-10" of concrete between the floors, noise has not been an issue. See previous guest reviews.

Wonderful stay!

We enjoyed our time. Comfortable and safe location. the pool and our daily visit by Daisy (dog) was lovely. The house is well equipped with beach towels and coolers and other amenities. Our host Hector was great.

Wonderful

We had a fantastic time staying at Hector's property. It is probably the best equipped vacation home we have stayed at. The drawers and cabinets are labeled so you can find whatever you need with ease. The property is gorgeous and guests are provided with an immense amount of recommendations for things to do, restaurants, etc. Nice large living accommodations and Hector and his furry friends could not have been sweeter. We definitely hope to visit again. We will be recommending this property to anyone we know who plans to visit Puerto Rico.

Great house with view to the Yunque Rainforest

House is great. Many details and accessories in kitchen, and bedrooms as well as for going to the beach. Hector was there to help for any issues we had. The pool is great and the view is fascinating. The best thing about the house is the driveway, full of beautiful trees. On the down side: Main bed was not super confortable, too soft. Also, the internet system to open and close the gate was pretty cool but it was a problem for us, since non-wifi internet was an issue being foreigners. Overall, it was a great experience and we recommend the house.

A little piece of paradise

We loved driving into the property, it felt like the entrance to a luxury resort. The garden along the driveway is lush with beautiful tropical plants. The highlight of staying here though was being greeted the first day (and every day after) by the furry welcoming committee. Hector’s dogs and cats were so excited to see us each day. We loved visiting with them. The home is very comfortable after days of exploring the area and great just to hang out by the pool or sit outside at night and listen to the frog sounds. It was great to have beach towels and beach chairs to take to the local beaches. A visit to Old San Juan was beautiful and historic but it was so nice to return to this quiet oasis in the hills. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and appreciated the handful of staples such as cooking oil, some spices and foil and plastic wrap. We loved hearing the rainforest creatures at night especially before or after it rains. You truly feel like you’re in the jungle. Saw hummingbirds, red tailed hawks, bananaquits and the coolest - the tree snails. They were huge! Look for them at night by the garden near the parking areas. Hector is the perfect host, kind and generous. Thank you for such a wonderful trip!

Hector grew up in the center of the island (Orocovis) and moved to Michigan in the 70's. Each vacation opportunity, we would return to the island to stay with family. In 2001, we had an opportunity to purchase a piece of land close to a niece's house that we always ended up staying with on vacation because of her great location to everything (and her great Puerto Rican cooking!). When Hector retired in 2010, he returned to his homeland to supervise the construction of this vacation home. In 2015 Hector and Kim moved to the island to manage the vacation rental house.

We chose this location because it is in close proximity to all the attractions and amenities of the big city of San Juan, the kid-friendly beach in Luquillo, and the ferries to neighboring islands Culebra and Vieques. Guests enjoy the privacy of the home and its surrounding tropical fruit trees, flowers, rocks, and palms. We are hybrid Tourists and Locals -- we want to see everything the island has to offer, but we don't want to pay the high costs associated with being a tourist, and we know THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO THE ISLAND THAN SAN JUAN!

The location of this home allows you to vacation comfortably with all the amenities of home. It is close enough to San Juan for an easy road trip, very close to Luquillo Beach, one of the best beaches on the island, and very close to the El Yunque National Forest. Move in for your vacation ... the house allows you to just relax, cook meals if you want, and spend quality time together. Excellent restaurants in close proximity and there is a book in the home containing our personal favorites and former guest recommendations. You can always feel free to ask us too!
