NOTE: Recently the corporate owner of most of the other Valley cabins previously for rent pulled those cabins off the market permanently so there are very limited options now. This property is not subject to that issue.
The Snow Water Springs Cabin is one mile north of the Decker's intersection at Hwy 67. Great roads for any type of vehicle all seasons. We are available all year around.
With miles of public access Gold Medal trout fishing, this is a great place to start and finish your fishing or float day on the river. Public fishing access is a 5 minute walk from the front door. This river is fishing great (Rainbows and Browns over 20"' are common) and if you don't get out early, you will miss the good spots, so this property is perfect for the true fisherman. The evenings are peaceful and starlit. Listen to the river and frogs and birds. The Pike National Forest is just a few hundred yards up the hill so go on a hike. Mule deer and elk wander the area. Bald eagles and ospreys hunt for fish. ATV/OHV areas are a short distance away.
Why pick this cabin? The cabin is remodeled and has a full modern kitchen, dining table, couch and easy chair and a Big Screen TV with Dish, phone and WiFi and Central Air. If you like seeing your e-mail, this is the So. Platte cabin for you. There is virtually no cell service in the Valley. I have a land line you can use. The WiFi supports mobile WiFi calls, and texting. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans and dishware. Gas range/oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee pot and dining table. There are some condiments available. Toilet paper, paper towels, dish towels and other misc items are onsite. Just bring your food and drinks and relax.
One private bedroom with a King bed, a bedroom with a newer Twin Bunk, and a Queen pull-out couch.
There is a newer bath with shower. There is a covered gazebo for donning and removing/drying fishing gear. The mid-summer can be quite warm so we have added Central Air Conditioning. After a day of fishing, you will love a cool cabin. It is rare that the nights are warm, so open the windows and enjoy the fresh air and quiet.
There is a large covered gazebo for relaxing and having a beer while you grill your dinner. At night you can gather around the gas fire pit.
You have to pay $200-$350 for a hotel room these days, and here, you get a full cabin, kitchen, bedrooms and all the amenities plus a gold medal river for fishing, floating and dangling your feet in the cool water. Hike into the National Forest a few hundred feet up the hill. Hike and fish in beautiful Cheesman Canyon (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/cheesman-canyon/photos) - its only a few miles up river. There is also a park with kids playground 1/2 mile away. See spectacular natural attractions near Colorado Springs- about an hour away. This opportunity is offered to responsible adults for fishing, and quiet enjoyment.
Depending on how you utilize the beds, it can sleep 4 to 6. FOUR ADULTS is the maximum I will allow. 4 adults and 2 children is acceptable. The stated rental fee is for 2 people and there is a charge for additional guests of $40 a night each. A dog is an option, for small additional $40 fee PER DOG per stay -2 DOG LIMIT (you cannot board them for this price- it's a great deal!). As a dog owner, I know how nice it is to bring your dog. Please be considerate. Keep pets off the furniture for the sake of other guests.
Tubing on the river is popular and safe as the river is usually less than 3 feet deep but deeper holes do exist. A tuber can run down 10 miles of river if they choose. The water is dam controlled so it is rarely running fast but if you have children under 14 years old, I require they use a life jacket. You need to provide your own watercraft and life jackets.
A small restaurant, a liquor store, a general store and fly shop are 1 mile away. Ask me about locating guided fly fishing services!

Under Book Now there is a sample copy of my Sharing Agreement which I require all guests to COMPLETE and SIGN, so please read it BEFORE YOU MAKE THE RESERVATION. The one I send you needs to be signed and returned within 2 days of receipt or the reservation may be cancelled at the sole discretion of the owner. The non-pet agreement is similar, but without the dog fee and Pet Addendum. If you complete the reservation process, I will assume you have read it and agree to sign it when it is sent. Thank you for your prompt participation.
I do ask guests to tidy up the property before you leave. It costs me 3 times what I charge for cleaning, as the cleaning person comes from Denver and charges by the hour including travel and gas. Please help me keep your fee low by doing a few basic things- see the Check-out list at the property.
