My girlfriend and I managed to get a last minute break from work and were looking for somewhere relaxed and easy going where we could chill out; this turned out to be the perfect place.
Peter, Joan and Nichola helped make our stay just what we wanted, great breakfasts, and tasty dinners etc. also being treated almost as part of the family when it suited and leaving us to do our own thing at other times.
Most of the time we spent in the fantastic heated pool but we also managed to drag ourselves away and check the surrounding area which is easy to explore. I would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking of staying in the area, and we hope to go back soon...

This is a gem and we are so glad to have found it! We will be back. The room was well-equipped, clean and comfortable and the hosts are just the best. We opted for b&b with a meal and the catering was first class. The pool and garden are lovely. The dogs are big softies - so gentle and real characters, they added quite a few laughs to our visit. Thank you and hope to see you again soon! Della&Nigel
We had a lovely relaxing week staying in the self catering unit at this property. The house is very comfortable, very clean and a good size for families with young children (ours were 4 and 2 at the time of our visit). The kitchen especially is extremely well equipped and we really appreciated the fact that basics (such as salt and pepper, washing up liquid, cooking oil etc) were supplied. The pool is great - even although the weather was a bit mixed during our holiday, we were still in it most days. Peter and Joan also provided a variety of inflatables for the children to play wtih in the pool which was great.
It is possible to walk into Novelda from the property in about 15 minutes (though we mainly drove as there aren't proper pavements most of the way). It seemed to be a fairly typical small Spanish town. We didn't hear any other English speakers in town all week although there were plenty of Spanish visitors around as the tourist office (which was helpful) always had a several people in it. There are lots of little playparks spread around town (mainly suitable for the under 3s) so you could find a shady spot to sit and let the little ones play for a bit. We enjoyed visiting the indoor market (open most days) and the street market (two days a week). Lots of supermarkets around too. We don't speak any Spanish but the locals were always friendly and helpful in the shops and cafes.
We had two trips to the beach at Santa Pola which is only about half an hours drive away (and again Peter and Joan kindly lent us some buckets and spades and some other things to make our outing there more enjoyable). It's a good beach for small kids as it isn't very wide and it's easy to keep an eye on them. We were glad that we weren't staying in Santa Pola as it seemed to be a concrete mass without much charm.
It was great only having a short drive (again about half an hour) to/from the airport at the start and finish of the trip - no endless holiday bus transfers to endure.
All in all we had an excellent holiday! Thank you Joan, Peter and Nicola for your kindness and hospitality throughout our stay. And the freshly squeezed orange juice (as mentioned by other reviewers) is really really good - shop bought juice doesn't taste the same.

Joan and Peter made us feel very welcome and looked after us really well during our short stay.
Our bed and breakfast accomodation was very comfortable, and set in very pretty grounds, with the added attractions of some lovely pets, including a duck and cockerel! The accomodation was warm, spotlessly clean, and modern. The fridge was very useful for storing packed lunch materials.
The property is ideally located for rock climbing areas south of Alicante, and we were able to drive to the crags very easily, being close to the main roads, although set back enough to be peaceful and tranquil.
Although it was a bit cold for eating outdoors, the grounds would be a lovely space to sit out in the evening in warmer weather.
Joan cooked us some wonderful food, and being a vegetarian it was lovely to get good quality meals, not always possible in Spain if you do not eat meat or fish. The home made marmalade and freshly squeezed juice at breakfast were also delicious.
We were made to feel very welcome and had a pleasant stay in the area.
My wife and I booked a fortnight on b/b having wished to stay in this part of the Alicante region. We decided not to reserve a rental car as we wanted to try and get around by foot and/or local buses, knowing that we could rent a car if necessary. We never felt the need during our whole fortnight to do so. Joan and Nichola picked us up at the airport at a nominal cost. It was clearly obvious that at this first meeting that we were going to be treated exceptionally well.
On arrival at the villa and being greeted by Peter, we were shown to our excellent room. Very well appointed, immaculate white towels (changed daily), kettle, tea/coffee, iron - a first class room.
We accepted their invitation to join them for dinner that evening. Joan and Nichola are highly talented cooks. Meat is of the highest quality and all vegatables and fruit from their large garden and a bottle of wine for my wife and I to share. We had dinner with them for 10 of our 14 night stay. All first class and inexpensive. The room is immaculately cleaned every morning with copious supplies of tea and coffee provided.
The amount of knowledge they have about the area and places to visit is very useful, plus the fluent Spanish that Nichola speaks is a great asset in helping translate any uncertainties.
The large heated pool is the best we have ever experienced and the landscape surround provides a relaxing, pleasant area. 200 shrubs and trees adorn the large plot which are very well maintained by Peter.
There are many more praiseworthy examples I could provide but above that is the friendly professionalism, care and attention to detail offered by Joan, Nichola and Peter. Nothing is too much trouble for them and you feel you are being treated as one of the family. Similarly, you can be as private and independent as you wish and desire.
It was our first visit, but it will not be the last!
Well done to all three of you, you deserve to continue with the success you have enjoyed to date.
