We were two families, parents between ages 38-42, two children age 7 and two at age 4 and a Nana at 70. We all had a great time here. The house was clean, and the yard gave the kids lots of room to run around. Alessandro was very responsive via-email while booking and very helpful but cell phone does not have VM so beware. The price was great compared to all the other locations we scouted. A couple of downside to the place, not enough for us to not re-book here as once we made the request it was handled immediately.
The owners lovely parents live downstair and they have a dog. On a couple of occasions we had to step around dog poop that was still left out. And the walk way is dark once it gets to be night time so beware. A couple of nights the little children were still up at 10 or 11 clock at night and yelling or screaming outside, so if you have children who are light sleepers beware, other then that it was very quiet, after the children heads to bed.
The kitchen is well stocked with supplies, the coffee drip pot is very slow but will do the job. They were very kind in brining us a bigger expresso stove top and a new drip but that drip was equally slow.
We did not have heating but we didn't notice as it was warm that week. However, the day of our departure we did not have hot water, but with two phone calls it was resolved. Like I said, Alessandro is very responsive and helpful and these things really wouldn't deter us from rebooking with him. And one last thing, we actually never met Alessandro himself, he never came to meet us, we were passed off to parents, brothers, and other family members. I think in our stay we saw 3 different people. All were very helpful and really sweet, and if you are looking for a great place this is it!
We could not have found more gracious hosts. The location was perfect for trips into Florence and the Tuscan countryside. We spent two weeks and could have spent more time. The apartment was comfortable and had everything we needed. We ate our breakfast on the terrace daily. The road up to the farmhouse was narrow but my husband soon became an accomplished "Italian driver"!
We loved our stay here! The villa was HUGE! We had seven adults staying here and had ample space, bedrooms were bigger than our bedrooms at home, the rooms were tastefully decorated, everything worked as it should. The road leading up to the villa is really narrow and winding, which was an issue for our 9 passenger van we rented, but we found that to be true in lots of places in Italy. The proximity to Florence was about 7 km, and the Autostrada entrance was at the bottom of the hill, making easy access to Sienna, Pisa, etc. The owner took really good care of us. He was there when we needed him and even helped us get a parking ticket paid (oops!) Thanks again for a wonderful time!
The house is very close to Florence for visit and big garden is nice for children. We rent the 12 people flat and the surface is great, large living room.
House location is recommended for mountain biking, you can find nice track in Chianti area.
Good bootle wine are ready in the flat, with normal pricing. Owners are very kind.
One warm place with adorable hosts, peace, tranquility and charm are keywords to define Certosa.
A magnificent place where we can cross(spend) holidays in the heart of a resplandissante
