Our 'Beached Bungalow' was at one time a floating hotel room that was made entirely out of local hardwoods, and weather proof woods. It is Rustic & what it lacks in amenities, it makes up with Nature all around you. It is not for Everyone, but the Nature Lover will enjoy the full beauty of the area & Estuary. The cabin itself has one King Bed, and one Single bed .There is a full bath with an Outside hot water shower. There is also a small sitting area inside the cabin...for those days that the sun is too much, or when it rains. Oh did I mention the prism shaped skylight built into the roof of the cabin...great for checkin' out the stars from bed!! There is limited cooking facilities available at the cabin, and the electricity is provided by solar powered batteries, (internet available). This is a Full On Adventure you will never forget as long as you live so if you are up to it......Come Stay with Us!!

Birding and fishing Panama

Gorgeous place, great company!! Private, quiet and great fishing along with Murph! Book this bed and breakfast-- you can eat at your fabulous cabina on the water, or you can share your hosts' table, the old fashioned way that promotes TALKING TO NEW PEOPLE!! We got Dorado and Murph cooked it up for supper--delicious. Sue is a wonderful hostess with the mostest-- two thumbs up!

Unique Amazing Cabana Right On The Water & Amazing Hosts!!!!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Beached Bungalow in November 2016. We do quite a bit of traveling and Sue and Merf are two of the nicest, most interesting, and most accommodating people we have ever met in our travels. They are truly interested in providing a great experience for their guests. The cabana itself is really amazing. It's like being on a boat at the edge of the water. The views are wonderful and the open air atmosphere is wonderful and the deck is spacious. Our favorite part was the privacy. They just have one cabana right now and it has excellent privacy. Sue and Merf also offer kayaking, fishing, island hopping and will work with you for anything you want to do. Keep in mind this is an open air rustic cabin. If that is what you like (like we do), then the Beached Bungalow is fabulous!!!! We got a flat tire and they even helped us get it fixed.

My stay at Sue and Nerf's place was fantastic. Their place on the water was very relaxing and was just what I was looking for on part of my holiday to Panama. Had only planned to stay two nights, but as the place was great as were the hosts I managed to change the schedule a bit and get an extra night in. Went out fishing with Merf to the infamous Hanibal Banks and had a great day out. his boat and gear are good. The sun sets over the water are very nice and good place to sit having a glass of wine taking it all in. There is also good w-ifi at the cabin which is an added bonus.

Isolated Beach front cabin

My husband and I were looking for a cute little place to stay while we explored Panama, and we found the perfect bungalow in Boca Chica. We woke up to parrots flying over, were visited by hundreds of hummingbirds and even saw a crocodile swim by! Amazing to say the least. Capt Merf & Sue took us out Island exploring in their boat and we saw turtle tracks on the beach, porpoise jumping along the way and then we got to their private beach and we thought that we were in heaven!! We came as guests and left as friends. Our hosts gave us a truly incredible vacation of a LIFETIME and we plan on returning next year for more fun!

great place great hosts

Sue and murf were great hosts, and the bungalow was a very nice and private place to stay. If you are into fishing or nature viewing this is a pretty place with lots of options. Capt Murf and sue are easy to get along with and have lots of adventures to help you see this intresting place on the coast of Panama. be sure to hire them for a water adventure, well worth the costs and they are experienced and safety oriented guides. All around good folks.

Capt. Dave (Merf), and Sue Murphy are from the Florida Keys, near Key West. Merf is a retired airline pilot, and Sue is a retired mother/landscaper, who started to hatch a plan to leave Hurricanes behind and move to Panama, Central America, in 2006 The plan was to build and run a small fishing/eco-tour resort. Well let's be optimistic and just say the project has been delayed for a while. So in the mean time Sue is following her dreams of running the eco-tour side of the business with kayak tours up the estuary, and Merf is running the charter boats, specializing in Big Game Fishing. The Beached Bungalow has recently been finished and we are looking forwarding introducing our clients to some of the most amazing nature available anywhere on the earth. This cabin, now called 'the Beached Bungalow' started life as a floating hotel room, but didn't like the Nortera winds, so we took the only safe option and beached it...thus the name. It is in a truly mystical location and has been described as Romantic, and Totally Isolated. Many water activities such a Big Game Fishing, and Eco-Tous are available, as well as many land based activities such as Horse back riding, and Zip Line tours. This cabin is rented as a Bed and Breakfast, and there are local restaurants for more service. The cabin itself sleeps 2-3 and has a King Bed, Single Bed, Full Bath with running hot water, a sitting area, and a large outside patio, built out over the mouth of a beautiful peaceful bay! The entire cabin is built out of local hardwoods, to add a certain level of charm, and warmth. The view to the West includes fantastic sunsets across the water, and to the North a spectacular view of the Continental Divide with volcanos.
