'Otter Cottage' Riverfront/Trailside Murphy Cabin!

Get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with loved ones during your stay at the 'Otter Cottage!' This 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom vacation rental cabin is nestled above the Nottely River and backs up to Nantahala National Forest in lovely Murphy, North Carolina. Four travelers can spend days fly fishing on the river, hiking through the national forest, or simply catching up on their favorite book as they relax on the massive front deck.

You'll have fantastic river and forest views wherever you go in this bright and airy home! Large windows provide great views and fill the home with tons of natural light on sunny days.

Early risers in your group can step out onto the deck to enjoy the river while sipping their morning coffee. Watch the otters and other local wildlife play in the water before you head out for the day's adventures.

Though you'll feel secluded in the woods during your stay, you'll have all of the comforts of home at 'Otter Cottage.' Use the wireless internet to surf the net and watch your favorite shows on the flat-screen cable TV.

There are tons of restaurants just down the road, but you don't need to leave the comfort of your home-away-from-home when it's time to dine. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

End the evening with a nightcap out on the deck, or throw a log in the fireplace to create a nice and cozy atmosphere inside.

When it's time to call it a night, fall asleep to the sound of the river as she cascades over the rocks in front of the house. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed, while the second bedroom features a set of twin beds.

With the Nottely River right in your backyard, there's no need to travel far for days of fun and adventure. The rapidly-running river is ideal for tubing, rafting, and exploring. Anglers can bring their rods and try to reel in some fish during your stay! The river is also great for those who'd like to try their hand fly fishing.

Those who'd prefer to stay on dry land can whittle a new hiking stick and explore Nantahala National Forest! One of the forest's hiking trails starts in the side yard along a stream that feeds the river.

If you're itching to get into town, take a 15-minute drive to downtown Murphy for shopping and tasty local restaurants! Head a bit further to Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel, only 25 minutes away, and press your luck at the slots or table games.
