High atop Bordeaux Mountain is Summerwind, a secluded, first-class villa set on 5.5 acres of the St. John’s National Park. Our guests tell us they enjoy the privacy of this mountaintop retreat, as well as the short 10-minute ride to the north shore beaches. But most of all they rave about the panoramic views from Summerwind. As the rolling mountains, Coral Bay and British Virgin Islands unfold before you; it feels like you are sitting on top of the world. Aptly named Summerwind, even on the hottest days of the summer, there is comfortable breeze.

Summerwind allows our guests to feel like they are living outside with all the comforts of being indoors. The villa is comprised of two buildings decorated in a clean, contemporary style, with a sundeck, pool and hot tub in between them. The pool and sundeck were designed so that they are bathed in sunshine for most of the day, while the hot tub is tucked into a private corner of the deck. Lush plantings, flowers and fruit trees surround the villa - feel free to pick mangoes, bananas, papayas or limes if you see some ripe ones!

The main house was constructed with a cathedral ceiling and includes the living room, dining areas, kitchen, half bath, wet bar and office space. The main house, as well as all the living spaces of Summerwind, have elegant Travertine stone floors. Three large double doors open onto a 36-foot covered deck, which is a perfect place to relax in the shade, grill or dine outside looking out at the view. The gas grill is always ready with a backup tank available. Summerwind’s kitchen is well stocked, and in addition to all the standard appliances our guests would expect (e.g. 4-burner gas stove and oven, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, etc.) we also have a Panini maker, wine cooler and powerful Vitamix blender – ideal for fruit smoothies or frozen cocktails. Summerwind also has all the technology you would require on vacation including satellite TV with cable and sports channels, DVD player, stereo, CD player, iPod docking station, Wifi and printer.

Across the pool is the other house that includes the master bedroom, two guest bedrooms and access to the forth bedroom situated under the main house. Each room in the villa is air conditioned, and also has ceiling fans as well as sturdy glass doors and sliding screen doors if that is your preference. The four bedrooms are accessed by an exterior staircase, share the same spectacular view and have covered sitting areas on the decks outside the bedrooms. The master bedroom has a cathedral ceiling, king bed, spacious double bathroom, walk-in closet and large outdoor shower. The three guest bedrooms have queen beds as well as private travertine-tiled bathrooms. Finally, the villa comes equipped with a washer, dryer, blow driers in every bedroom and plenty of beach towels, beach chairs, coolers and floats.

Summerwind is suitable for both family vacations as well as romantic getaways. The superb privacy of the villa has attracted many couples and honeymooners over the years. For families, the villa has a pack-n-play, portable high chair and beach toys.

Despite its unspoiled location, Summerwind is located in a neighborhood of fine luxury villas, ¼ mile off Centerline Road, and a 5-minute walk to the restaurant, shops and smoothie stand at the Bordeaux overlook. Situated in the middle of the island, you can drive to Coral Bay in 10 minutes and Cruz Bay in 15 minutes.
