Summer in Park City
Summer season in Park City is as vogue as ski season. The alpine climate is warm and comfortable. Golfers enjoy the half-dozen public golf courses in and about Park City. There are hundreds of miles of bike and hike trails, a world-class mountain bike park at the Canyons, and a rich mining history to explore. Multiple lakes for wakeboarding, sailing, and fishing are within minutes. Rivers for water rafting, kayaking, and fly fishing are close by too.
Park City is host to a multitude of summertime events. The Tour de Utah, Kimball Arts Festival, Sunday Silly Market, Wednesday Farmer Market at Canyons, and the Food & Wine Classic showcase summer. The Deer Valley Music Festival and the St. Regis Big Stars Bright Lights Concerts headline a pack of concert series in Park City. Free evening concerts happen weekly on Wednesdays (Deer Valley), and Saturdays (Canyons).
Fourth of July is an enthusiastic celebration in Park City. All three ski resorts host concerts and fireworks on different days. There is a parade, a town breakfast, a 5k run, a town BBQ, live entertainment, carnival games for the kids, plus a host of other happenings around old town. Miner’s Day over Labor Day weekend is equally festive. The Canyons gondola and three mid-mountain lifts operate during the summer season for hiking, mountain biking, and sightseeing. Ride the gondola to 8,000 feet with your bike to access the Canyons Bike Park and some of Park City's most popular trails including the famous Mid Mountain trail. Moose, deer, fox, and others freely range the resort. There is a stocked fishing pond with paddle boats. The Canyons operates a mid-mountain cafe and a 50+ mph zip line that travels nearly ½ mile and over twenty stories up. Canyons resort now features a new 18 hole golf course. At the Olympic park, next to the Canyons, the world’s best freestyle skiers are readying for winter. The freestylers are jumping daily and do Saturday all-star shows. Olympic Park has another 50mph zipline and if that’s not enough, try the bobsled.
