Há um pequeno duas pessoas elevador, mas isso não vai caber uma cadeira de rodas. O elevador não deve ser sobrecarregado, mas é muito útil para transportar a bagagem para o 3º andar. Um limpo de saída padrão está incluído no preço, mas por favor, deixe o apartamento limpo e arrumado como possível.

Solid, last minute stay with family in Bloomsbury/Holborn

We traveled with a husband, wife, and twin 7-year-old daughters. Our trip to London was arranged at the last minute, so inventory on HomeAway/VRBO was shrinking. This flat was available for part of the trip, so we took the plunge. Payment was a bit unorthodox for HomeAway but went off without a hitch.

Location is good -- three blocks away from Russell Square on the Piccadilly Line and a block away from Coram's Fields, which has several playgrounds, a kids' zipline, and a small urban farm with goats and a pack of rabbits (bring some lettuce if you want to feed them). The Brunswick shopping mall is right near the station, with a large Waitrose supermarket, a few late night market options, two drug stores, an arthouse-oriented movie theater, and a few of the ubiquitous restaurant and cafe chains that permeate London. Salaam Namaste is a very fine Indian restaurant right around the corner, and the Lamb's Conduit Road pedestrian district with a few quirky shops, cafes, and pubs. There is some road noise that was audible from the living room, but not (to our urban ears) in the bedrooms.

This flat is on the top floor. A small lift can carry luggage but not people, so not the best if you're averse to climbing stairs, but great for natural light. It had a roomy king size bedroom and a second bedroom with bunk beds, each (American) twin size beds.

A flash heater provided plenty of hot water, though the shower took some tweaking to get the desired temperature. The kitchen had an electric conduction stove, small oven, microwave, and a fridge/freezer, along with a range of diningware, glassware, corkscrew, and utensils. Clothes washer was a little quirky but we got it to work. WiFi was a Star dish service and download rates were very good at all hours. Apartment was delivered in spotless condition.

Concerns: flight landed at 7 am. We could drop off our bags at 10 am (and were greeted by one of the managers), but couldn't move in until more like 1 pm. (We knew this, and the flat had just been vacated the morning arrived and they were cleaning the place when we arrived; another group is arriving the day we are leaving.) Would get five stars with a formally written down guide to the apartment, with local resources, tips for using the washing machine (we downloaded a manual) and the shower. But for convenience to shops, and a hop, skip, and a jump away from the British Museum and King's Cross/St Pancras, a good solid last minute option.

Location, Comfort, Economy

Stayed in the flat for the month of November 2016 with wife, daughter and grandson visited for two weeks during our stay. The flat was secure, comfortable, and in a very convenient location for shopping and transportation-easy walk to 3 underground stations, Waitrose supermarket, and excellent restaurants. Photos in listing accurate. As stated in the listing, not a lot of amenities but not a problem.Mike responded quickly and payment was easy via credit card. The lift was vintage, small, but worked perfectly during our stay. If you need a second bedroom, in a very popular area, and are on a budget,

the flat is an excellent choice. We plan to return in 2017.

location perfetta, casa che necessita di pulizia

Eravamo 4 adulti ed abbiamo scelto di soggiornare presso la casa di Mike. La casa si trova in un bel quartiere a 10 minuti al massimo dalla fermata della metro di Russel Square (piccadilly line). Nella zona ci sono diversi Pub ed un piccolo centro commerciale con ristorantini, negozi e Waitrose. Siamo arrivati con quasi un'ora di ritardo rispetto all'orario stabilito a causa del traffico nella metropolitana ma abbiamo preventivamente avvisato Caroline, la collega di Mike che doveva farci il check-in. Check-in che è stato molto veloce forse a causa del nostro ritardo (sembrava che Caroline dovesse scappare...).

La casa è esattamente come nelle foto. Piccola ma funzionale. I letti sono comodi e le camere sono silenziose. L'unico problema è che non vede l'aspirapolvere da molto tempo!! La polvere regna ovunque (dai cassetti, all'armadio per non parlare sotto il letto dove, purtroppo, mi è caduto il cellulare....). In bagno, nella spazzatura, c'era ancora la roba degli inquilini precedenti (neanche svuotato il cestino!). La casa dovrebbe essere consegnata pulita e non così.

Purtroppo, ma questo non dipende da Mike, il secondo giorno si è rotto l'ascensore ed essendo sabato, fino a quando siamo partiti il lunedì mattina l'ascensore non ha più funzionato.

Resposta do proprietário: Thank you for your review. The lift engineers are usually very quick to reset the lift if it stops working from being overloaded. I agree that the apartment should be in a very clean order when guests arrive. I will raise this feedback with the cleaners and ensure they are doing their work well.

Great flat

First off, let me say that the owner, Mike, was great. We had to find a flat in London ASAP and his was available. The communication with him and the ease of payment (via Paypal) was top rate. Let me tell you the pros and cons of the flat:

Pros:

Location - it was close to a tube stop (Russell Square) and a supermarket (Waitrose). It was about a 10 minute walk to either place. There's also a playground about a 5 minute walk. And, if you're coming on the Eurostar, the St. Pancras station is a 15 minute walk away.

Amenities - the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with all the appliances.

Very nice apartment with a couple of issues

This is a 2 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, dining room, and living room. The location is superb ... only 25 to 30 minutes via underground, bus, or even walking (40 mins) to the sites downtown.

The building is a short walk to a large, well-stocked supermarket (WaitRose) that's in a mall called The Brunswick.

The bed in the master bedroom is a super king according to UK standards (two twin beds brought together). Most hotels in London do not offer this option.

The 2nd bedroom has 1 bunk bed. All the beds were very comfortable.

The dining room and living room face Guilford Street and if you have the windows open the traffic noise outside bounces off the walls of Goodenough College across the street and right into the apartment. The Mews behind the apartment, facing the bedrooms, is generally quiet with the exception of a few drunken revelers making their way home on a weekend eve.

I'm mentioning this here for your info, not to dissuade you from booking this place, because we would again.

One issue with the bedding was that there was no top sheet, or flat sheet, between the fitted sheet and comforter. So when we needed just a sheet to keep us warm, we didn't have that option--so we had to wrestle at night with being too cool or too warm. I can't imagine this is a UK custom. If it is ... it's dumb. Because there's also a cleanliness concern as I assume the comforters are not washed between guests so some of us prefer not to come into direct contact with a comforter used by multiple people.

I texted the property manager about this and he never responded.

One issue with the 2nd bedroom is that there is some noise in the walls that goes on and off all night long. Sounds like plumbing work but can't be sure. You may want to pack some ear plugs for people sleeping in there.

Otherwise, we were happy with this apartment as we got much more for our money compared with a hotel.

The property manager's colleague was there to greet us promptly for check in. That went very smoothly.

Happy we found this spot.

Resposta do proprietário: Thank you for your review, and saying you enjoyed it and received good value for money. The apartment is very central and it is easy to visit the major spots with ease. I can respond on a couple of the matters you comment on: I believe what you describe as a comforter is what we call a duvet. All of our beds have a bed sheet, a covered duvet and pillows with pillow cases. The sheets, duvet covers, and pillow cases are thoroughly washed between each let. Some guests if they find the duvet too hot at night will take the duvet out of the cover and just use the duvet cover. Your comments on the comforter, I'm sorry, but I don't understand them. The rear of the apartment overlooking the mews is where both bedrooms are and as you say is very quiet. Your comment on plumbing noises is not one I have noticed or had comments on before but I will investigate further. Again, thank you for your review, and we look forward to seeing you again. Mike

Fantastic apartment near Russell Square

We have had a great stay here with our 2 teenage boys. The apartment is in an excellent location near Russell Square Station or Holborn Station. It's light and airy, with a great kitchen and bathroom. The free Wi-Fi was handy.

The owner responded quickly to our request for a new kettle as it had broken. They were also very kind to let us leave our bags in the apartment on our check-out day as we had a late train.

We ate some lovely meals locally in Lamb Conduit Street and at a pub near Russell Square station called the Friend in Hand.
